LMAO......North Stanly and their "what if" season. This couldn't have happened to a better crowd. Recruited players for a once in a lifetime season with a team that has 17 seniors and all they have to show for it is a Conference Championship, two playoff wins and watching homecoming games again for rest of their existence. East Surry, Mount Airy or Starmount would have beaten North Stanly. North has talented players. They are NOT a team. The cheap shots, lack of coaching and lack of basic fundamentals is the North Stanly trademark. I hate it for the core of the North Stanly kids that worked for 12 years to get to their senior year only to see players brought in and catered to like they were NFL HOF'ers. It starts at the top. How many D1 players do they have on the team this year? How many have they had? What do they have to show for it? FOUR playoff wins in 57 years. Oh.... and plenty of upcoming Homecoming Ceremonies to watch once again. Hope you enjoyed the ride. On the brighter side Comet fans, at least you come around more than Halley's Comet. It only comes around every 76 years. Y'all at least show up every 56 or so!!!
Tarboro has been to 7 of the last 11 State Championship games. I'll go out on a limb and make the prediction for 2019 in 1AA. Tarboro. If you haven't seen them play you should. They are a well oiled machine and very well coached and disciplined. They get excited from time to time but damn they earn it.
North Stanly, with Clark, were the second best team in 1A period. I’m no fan of theirs but it is what it is. They were one helluva football team. With Clark they would not beat Tarboro, but it’s probably a 14-0, 21-7 game. No one else in 1A plays them that close
Anybody that plays Tarboro would have gotten beatin this year..Even your Precious West Montgomery Deadpoolx in there hey day. And how do you know what North is gonna do next year you gotta magic ball..Although I do know what West Montgomery is gonna be doing..North may have not have a history at being good at football until lately but in every other sport we have always beatin West.
North would have lost. Period. A good team will stop their running game and force them to pass. They couldn't pass.
Over 1,000 yards passing, but they can’t pass? It’s a shame people don’t look at stats before they decide to talk junk about 18 year old kids.

Tarboro beat West Montgomery last year. I don't need a magic ball to know exactly what North Stanly will do next year. And you haven't ALWAYS beaten West Montgomery in every other sport. North holds a slight advantage in basketball, big one in soccer, but in the other sports which you speak of it's nearly even down the line. Like I said, at least you are more consistent than Halley's Comet. Enjoy those Homecoming Ceremonies!!!! I believe you have watched a few at West Montgomery!!!
Yeah....just to give you a heads up this isn't the 1950's. Thousand yards passing at the high school level over 13 games isn't much at all. Look at who they got those yards against and that should tell you they had ZERO passing game against quality opponents. Maybe you should look at the stats before throwing temper tantrums. If you are a Comet fan enjoy the Homecoming Celebrations next season. If not, well, enjoy the off season.
I'm not a fan of North Stanly but they were maybe the 2nd or 3rd best team behind Tarboro.Could they beat East Surry if they met is something we will never know but they still were a very good football team. I don't know why DeadpoolX has such a hate for North Stanly and foresees them becoming a perennial homecoming game for their opponents in the coming years. He had better worry about Montgomery Central because I don't care who they hire as a coach they will be combing two teams with 7 wins last year between the two and zero wins against a team with a winning record.Plus the fact that they will no longer be 1A and have sure wins against teams like Chatham Central and South Davidson.
Yeah...Montgomery Central will be just fine. And if you don't think a HC matters well you know very little about high school football. What was North Stanly for 54 years? Homecoming opponent. They recruited well the last few years and with 17 seniors on this year's team nobody is moving to New London to play for a coaching staff that has proven once again they can't get out of their own way. You give Nick Eddins the teams that North has had for the last four years or so and I'll bet he gets more than 3 playoff wins in 4 years. As far as my disdain for North Stanly it should be evident.
READ your own post. He had the PLAYERS at Albemarle. He didn't have the PLAYERS at West Montgomery. Hell, with the team they had assembled at Albemarle who couldn't have won a State Championship? Akins also didn't put forth much effort at West Montgomery. That's a proven fact. He didn't even apply for the job that he inherited when that flaky coach that took the job for one day up and bailed. I don't think he forgot how to coach I just don't think he's very good at it. Coaching ability is shown when you defeat more talented teams with a less talented team. Sort of like what happened to North Stanly the last few years. I'll give it to them that Tarboro is the most talented team in 1A. Aside from that, there is NO reason for them to have lost the last three or four years until deep in the playoffs. How many D1 players and other college players have come through there and they have 3 playoff wins in the last 5 years to show for all of that talent. Talent will get you past Chatham Central, South Davidson, CATA etc.... Coaching wins in the playoffs. They ain't got it.
They couldnt pass in 8 or 9 of their games due to score. Perhaps you do the research not to be ignorant
The only reason NS could pass is because of their run game. Whenever NS had to pass they couldn't. Can anyone argue that?
There is no argument. The qb threw for over 1,100 yards, 18 touchdowns, and completed almost 60% of his passes. More you can’t argue against those facts
In a big game when the opposing team made NS throw he threw for 15 yards and 2 ints. He also threw an int against AHS. Not impressed and definitely not a college QB.
MA ran every team this year off the field until they faced East and their QB had over 3,000 yards they also didn’t throw late in games due to the score several times this year bottom line is 1,000 is not much East Surry has 2 QB’s with more than that a piece.
So how many college players does North Stanly have on that roster? Just saying all that talent and three playoff wins to show for it. Wow.....just wow. Again, enjoy the Homecoming Ceremonies next year Comet fans. I don't believe the recruits will be flocking to New London in August like they have in the past. Eventually kids will want to be part of a winning program against teams not named South Davidson, Chatham Central, CATA etc........
We will see how many points East Surry puts up on Tarboro. Bottoms line is North a Stanly was damn good this year, and with Clark, plays Tarboro within a few touchdowns. Let’s see if East Surry does this weekend. Those saying the qb at North Stanly isn’t anygood are clueless.

Bottom line is this — this thread is irrelevant, who cares , what ifs are dreams that didn’t come true. East Surry is playing for a state championship, North Stanly is playing basketball. East Surry will score more points than any other 1a team in the state on Saturday against tarboro, CAUSE THEY ARE THE ONLY OTHER 1aa TEAM PLAYING!! Everybody else is in the stands!!
After watching the Tarboro game, East Surry would have killed NS by the way.
No need for NS to complain about them being put in the bracket anymore. The wouldn't have made it to the state championship regardless.
North Stanly defense way better than East Surry, East Surry offense a little better. Wouldve been a decent game but N Stanly wouldve won.
