Northeastern vs Rocky Mount

There are a lot of hsfb fans down south who not only want to see NE lose,but get embarrassed. This thread will blow up if the Eagles lose to a very good Rocky Mt team. NE has become the most hated on team in the East. I have no problem with that because that just means our coach has completely turned this program around. Love us or hate us the the reality is that we have a really good program up here that is being lead by one of the most successful hsfb coaches in the state.
Northeastern is a really good program. Y'all going to be judged every week. I'm not hateing. Everybody not hating. Y'all put yourself in this spot. This is what goes with success. Respect is what you want. You know how to get that? You do!
I know you don't hate on us at all. You actually pull for us quite often. We haven't truly arrived until we lock up a state c ship. I have nothing but respect for the wrh guys and always pull for them. I try not to be "bragodocious" but sometimes it's hard. Our program has just been really good these last 3 or 4 yrs. We have been blessed with a lot of talent and there's some even better on the way. Thank heavens for the big Coast Guard base here!!
Been asked not to speak on it till seasons end. So I have to respect that. That being said I can't stop anyone else from finding out on their own. Tigerfan, who's your team,which high school?
Hard for me to pick which game is better this week...Function at the Junction or NE VS RM. If you are an x's and o's guy, these will be the games for you! What a special treat week 5 is! Northeast North Carolina High School Football doesn't get much better. Both these matchups have it all; great coaches, great athletes, strategic gameplans, individual battles all over the field, hype, drama, common opponents, marching bands, fans in seats, high school star players, undefeated records (with an asterisk on the Tarboro vs Rocky Mount game) the riches are endless if you are a high school football fan! Two teams will have to take a complete 4 quarter "L" this week among these teams! I almost wish there was a weather postponement so I can see them both!

Good luck to NE this week. Hope you guys go undefeated and we can meet in the playoffs again. A team is not hated by others UNTIL they are really, really good. Its a badge of honor, and you wear it well. Its not that they hate the team for how good they play, they just HATE that they will have to play you ....... 
Yeah I don't think anyone saw RM shutting out Rose. I thought they would have at least hit 2 big plays for scores. I did hear the Rose QB was injured and had to leave the game in the 2nd, so I know that factored in. I think this will be a tight game for 3 quarters as usual for NE. After seeing them twice this year they seem to know exactly what to do to get a victory no matter how tough the opponent is. You have to have the players to do that but the coaching for NE has been on a elite level. It's a good sign for a high school team when you dont question a single play call. lol

Thanks SWO1, what a great guy. You always make me feel bad about the things that I've said in the past about swo posters. Wish you and your team the best, lots of really good teams in the east this yr. Whoever wins the east will have earned it.
Any word on Freshwater for this game? I want to post keys to the game for each team to get a win in my opinion for what it's worth. Just want to see if their any early indications on who will dress for the game? Didn't hear of any injuries for Rocky Mount at the Rose game. The local media seems to go silent on Rose when Rose gets blown out. Heaven forbid any other Pitt team get blown out, they are all over it.

You should keep it that way. I never talk about what kids are going to or not going to play before a game. Let the other team figure it out in pregame warmups.
That's what I'm thinking also. Hertford County put up a lot of pts on them but they all came in the 4th after the game was decided
If NE loses it will be by less than 2 TDs I think. NE could be down by 2 TDs at halftime. RM is going to make some plays on offense. Their weakness in my opinion is the heart of the dline. If NE can pound it with big #10 and control RM possessions they can win. The small sample size of RM/Tarboro game is the right formula to get the win. Can NE play Tarboro ball for one week? Then make big pass plays over the top with QB Proctor once the run is established? W'ell see? I have full confidence in coach Moore to have the right game plan and to make the right adjustments no matter what they may be.

If I'm Rocky Mount I test the edges with my RB early and often. If there has been one thing that has been a struggle for NE its containing the edge. Even if the DE is double teamed NE LB's seem to have a hard time keeping backs from getting to the edge. If your DE and LB is blocked well then your CB has to be physical enough to set the edge and turn the run back inside. That's not the only concern for NE. Rocky Mount can pass, and they are very efficient doing so. NE has to have their CB's be physical from the snap and hit the receivers within 5 yards to throw off the timing and give time for the NE pass rush to get there. I'm certain if NE is unable to do this they could take the L and Rocky Mount moves forward with a ton of confidence for the rest of season.
In the end, I think Coach Moore finds a way to get a W. So far this has been his best coaching job in my opinion given some circumstances his team has found themselves in. The adversity this team has seen at times so far this year only to pull out wins has been pretty impressive. Coach Moore should be a early favorite for coach of the year in NC and be the head coach at the shrine game next year instead of the assistant. I think NE pulls this game out 38-35 off the foot of the NE stud kicker. I know Goobs will like that. Lol

I don't think so. Close early and Northeastern pulls away. Northeastern should win by more than 2 scores

Oh you know I like that lol!! I'm a huge fan of our kicker. I know from those very close to him that he hates to lose, kids a straight up winner. That's why he left Gates County, he knows he belongs here at Northeastern. I whole heartily believe that something special is going to happen here this yr because of this kids arrival. People sometimes joke because I post kicking videos and stuff but I believe he was steered here for a reason. I think he's gonna play a big part in leading us to a state c ship. Call me crazy but that's what I believe. Anyone that watches this kid practice non stop on the sidelines each game knows where I'm coming from. He's locked in and takes this serious.
This is a huge opportunity for us this Friday night. I'm with Bud, I think we our coaching staff has been unbelievable this yr. They have made the right adjustments when needed and our kids have prevailed after trailing in every game. The Indian River game was a remarkable comeback on the road in a hostile environment. I never thought we could win it
Tarboro is hated on in west like no team I’ve ever seen. Funny thing is the big argument now is how many points they would hypothetically lose by to Tarboro. Not if they would win! Lol. Y’all are getting there! Like dogs said, good teams are gonna find some haters.

I felt the same way their MO is to make big plays on offense early than forget how to play defense the rest of the game.
