Tyler Brown, sorry to see him go. I hope they will get a coach that can rebuild the program from the shambles the previous coach and administration left it.

Not doubting Coach Brown's reasons for stepping down, however, people have to be wondering exactly what is going on within Roanoke County and the school board. Virtually no information or charges(other than for Torrence) from a situation that certainly reached at least to the principal, if not higher. In the immortal words of Ricky Ricardo, "somebody got some splaining to do."

Has Dent been charged with anything yet? Torrence didn't do anything that Dent didn't have a hand in. (Dent probably initiated some of the wrongdoing, besides being just complicit)

Idk who is handling things for Northside, but if everything actually comes out, this is being handled agonizingly slow. Torrence stepped down a year ago and he was just charged a couple of months ago I think? No one else has been charged tmk.

There are so many rumors as to what happened and Northside has this black cloud hovering over it until all the dirty laundry gets aired out. Charges have to be brought and justice has to be served.

At the rate this is being handled this will take a few years. This will hang over the next coach and the kids unfortunately for a while, all because several adults thought they could manipulate things to bolster the football program.

Torrence's stipend is just the tip of the iceberg in regards to financial wrongdoing. Just like any criminal situation they just need to follow the money.

Lots of rumor, innuendo and smoke. Not sure who or what is trying to prevent it from becoming a full blown fire but, if people learn anything from history it is, more often than not, the coverup which exceeds the crime. Delays, deflections, ignoring, etc. only allows the story to expand beyond the facts unchecked and that eventually creates an unmanageable situation.

Killough is an arrogant, jerk. Not sure if he is the one doing the hunting and searching or not but that is my opinion of him. I have a question, how is it the guy at the bottom of the totem pole is facing charges when the higher ups ok'd it and definitely knew about it. Torrence may not have done the work on the contract but I seriously doubt and may be wrong that he wasn't "working" and was just going home while receiving a stipend.

The next HC will have to come from outside the program. No way they make an internal hire. Who do you think might come in? Someone with some current HC experience or maybe an assistant from a great program like Salem?

Agreed... I think Mv defensive coordinator would be great for the position. I think Favero prepares his Army of coaches well for Head Coaching positions.

Did he play at Northside or coach there and under which head coach? Sorry for the inquisition I'm just not familiar with Coach Fielder.

Northside needs a coach with Head Coaching experience and a background playing the schedule they play. Tough schedule and district to contend with every week. They tried the assistant route lasted less than a year. Just my HO not saying the person in question is not a good coach.

Every coach that ever coached was an assistant at some point. I don't care who gets job but this guy has coached defense in a lot of pressure games including 2 state champs. Hope he stays at MV.
