I'd say this guy reaped what he sowed

Whenever he and his family got kicked out of the Oxford Chili's this past weekend.

Gutsy (or just plain stupid). That guy didn't pull any punches and that's exactly how I think many Rebs think (they just don't write it in a paper).

Wow. Read about half of it. That's pretty sad. Even more so because I'm sure he thinks it's a clever article. Apparently anyone can just write an essay and they will publish it.

I really hope that guy is trolling because if he seriously thinks like that then I feel sorry for him for being so stupid.

I knew Wyatt was a Rebel, but why did he print that?

I read it last week and felt sorry for Mr. Frazier. He has some real issues..
Funny thing is that 60% of their fan base is just like that guy...

One postive is that he reinforces their known hatred ofrDan Mullen.

Someone should write a rebuttal to see if it is published.

His family used to live in Tupelo before they moved back to Jackson a couple of years ago. I'd say that article is a pretty damn good representation of the kind of arrogance he exuded on a daily basis. He's a federal judge.

I read it for the first time today. Wow.

That's truly a bunch of drivel ... the Giants will not compete for the NFC East title this year. Not a very good prediction.

Is Northside a place? Didn't somebody say the other day that this was a neighborhood "newspaper"? I'm not particularly offended (though I would stack my science and mathematics prowess up against his or any other Mississippi graduate, since he mentioned our academics), but the article would be more at home in the Bear student newspaper.

that's what so disappointing

that he allowed that to be published. State fans wonder why the media sometimes appears biased. Well here you go, the owner/publisher of several Mississippi newspapers, a very connected media guy, prints his buddy Jim's anti-State drivel.

Wait I'm confused

Why would he waste his time writing an article on a team he doesn't care about? That actually looks like a post from the spirit. Hilarious that it even got printed

I'd be willing to bet a million bucks he is a long time spirit poster

That was hilarious. I'm still laughing my *** off.

In all seriousness though, that guy has to be trolling, because if he's not, that was the most absurdly stereotypical UM thing I've ever read. I wonder if he knows that State actually leads the Egg Bowl series since it was moved back to the campuses in 1992? Nah, he's probably too busy jerking off Archie and Eli to even notice.

It's pretty clear this guy longs for "The Good Old Days"...

of Sugar Bowls, John Howard Vaught, a sea of Confederate flags, and segregation.

I think he's obviously trolling, but the way to know is to print an equally over-the-top anti-bear rant and see if they publish it. I'm betting they would.

since i am one of the 'necks that went to school with a lot of these guys.. i have learned to sit on the sidelines and quietly observe the privileged class live their lives..

funny that the GHS mascot was a bulldog.

Damn I loathe mindless potshots between rivals. It makes grown men look like little girls arguing on the playground.

That article had all the unfunny stereotypes- education, uniform color, and dumb nicknames.

Academics?

That's rich....

I know people who laud OM's number of Rhodes Scholars, and I always come back with the amount of research and government grants we receive, compared to them.
How about NSF funding, bitches? If we judge by that criterion, it's not even close. Our scientific graduate programs are top notch.

Yeah, I don't get the academics argument either. I attended State for two years before changing majors and transferring to OM. I can promise you I'm not saying this because I am biased, but one of the first things I noticed was that the classwork at State was much, much more difficult than what I've experienced at OM...and I'm not even close to lying.

That's my word, and that's all I have on a message board.

"Not a Federal Judge" glad to hear that because it would be hard to believe a

federal judge could be this stupid.

Funding depends on what you have to research. Liberal Arts projects, political science majors and law schools don't inspire many federal grants. If you threw in the medical center's grants, though those would be NIH grants, not NSF, I'm sure they'd be closer to parity. I don't think there is any academic edge for either university. Rhodes Scholars are often granted for Liberal Arts or political science majors, and not typically engineers or vets.

I realize it was more than likely satire but it wasn't funny or witty which just made it stupid.

He did social security when he lived in Tupelo and would travel to other states to do the same. I assumed that was a federal appointment...I thought he told me that it was anyway. Doesn't matter to me either way what kind of judgeship he has...he's a weird dude that hates all things MSU.

He is NOT a federal judge. He is an administrative law judge.

It's typical of their attitudes and doesn't surprise me one bit.

Here's a summary of his book. I think I'd rather sit in a nursing home and re-read Great Expectations.

Jim Fraiser A lawyer, actor, teacher, editor, and now best-selling author, Jim Fraiser is a relative newcomer to Mississippi’s literary scene, but his first novel, Shadow Seed, published in July 1997, has received solid reviews and sold out in hardcover after only two months on store shelves. The novel, which will be released in paperback in spring 1998, is southern fiction set in present-day Jackson, Mississippi, and the Mississippi Delta at the turn of the century and is described as a “hair-raising psychological thriller, and a provocative study of the moral ambiguity in the modern day legal system and the society it seeks to protect.”

At the expense of giving this guy WAAAY more attention than he deserves.....

I can't help but point out the line about waiting around until 'Eli's NY Giants play Drew Brees Saints for the NFC Championship'. Seriously? This guy is predicting Peeli's 0-5 Giants will make the NFC championship game? Well that pretty much shows how much attention anyone should pay to his assessment of any football team.
