Alexander Central vs South Iredell

AC has been playing a little better lately, keeping it pretty close with undefeated Statesville. South Iredell is only 1-3 but has played some good competition. This should be pretty close, but South Iredell is the slight favorite.

Freedom vs AC Reynolds

Competition continues to increase for Freedom as Reynolds will be their best opponent by far. Reynolds is starting to find their groove after switching QBs, and their defense is forcing turnovers. This could be a high-scoring game,

McDowell vs Enka

Enka is coming off their first win against Cherokee, and McDowell blew out Avery. I could see another close game as these 2 usually play tight, but McDowell is at home and has a few more athletes.

South Caldwell vs TC Roberson

Roberson put a scare into Freedom and should be considered the favorite here. South Caldwell squeaked by North Gaston thanks to 2 pt conversions.

St Stephens @ Mt Airy

Long drive for an improved St Stephens squad. Mt Airy is reeling a bit after playing 2 very good teams and will look to get back to their usual winning ways. This could be an uncomfortably close game for Mt Airy, but it's hard to go against them at home.

Watauga @ Erwin

Erwin finally got in the win column with a good win over Hendersonville. Watauga is coming off a bye but has looked like the team to beat in the conference and possibly in 6A west. Expect a lot of points.

Combined conferences since the only 3 Mountain conference games are against Northwestern foes. Asheville and North Buncombe have byes

AC 28 SI 21. Honestly don't know much about these two but I'll take a guess

Reynolds 24 Freedom 14. ACR woke up in the 2nd half last week and I think they will carry that in to this game.

McDowell 35 Enka 14. Enka got a win but they will play a much bigger school and I don't see it happening again. McDowell is much improved and I think they will just get better.

Roberson 21 SC 10. Roberson is one of those teams you just never know what you will get. I think they pull this out.

MA24 SS 21. Should be a close game but I think home team pulls it out.

Watauga 42 Erwin 28. My Warriors continue this brutal stretch. Every team they have played was undefeated at the time and that continues this week. I watched some highlights of Watauga and they are best team in the mountains by far. Good news is once Erwin gets past this game they get Reynolds!

They have played really good teams and just had their best offensive output of the season against previously unbeaten Hendersonville. They are also learning how to play without their top WR. Also I dont think Watauga has played a team who can pass the ball like Erwin can this season and it could be a challenge. Or Watauga could steamroll them like they did Mt Airy.

I made my prediction when I heard a rumor that a certain receiver might be playing this week for Erwin. Found out it's just a rumor. Lol. I'll say Watauga 42 Erwin 20!

Kobe Johnson didn’t play at all in that game, he was sick. As you can see above, he makes a considerable difference in Freedom’s performance.

If I had to rank the teams in both conferences it would be-

Northwestern

1. Watauga
2. Freedom
3. St Stephens
4. McDowell
5. Alexander Central
6. South Caldwell

It will come down to Watauga or Freedom unless Saint can pull off an upset. McDowell or AC will finish 4th most likely.

Mountain

1. Asheville
2. Erwin
3. Reynolds
4. Roberson
5. North Buncombe
6. Enka

Honestly any of the top 4 could win it in the Mountain. Hard to know who's best
