Alexander Central @ McDowell

AC couldn't get any offense going against Saint. That was a bit surprising because they have scored against most of the teams they have played, and Saint has had trouble stopping people. McDowell has had no trouble scoring but their defense has to play better. They had over 600 yards of total offense, but gave up over 350. I expect this to be another high-scoring game.

Freedom @ Saint Stephens

Can Freedom rebound from their loss to Watauga? Saint has been pretty good this year and is capable of the upset if Freedom is not 100% focused on this week.

Erwin needs to win out to have a better chance of making the playoffs. Enka had a nice win over North Buncombe and might keep it interesting for a half.

Roberson has to stay focused here and should win easily. Roberson vs Reynolds on Halloween looks to be the game to decide the conference this year.

I like your Saint analysis. I feel like they're saving their upset strength for Watauga last week of the season. That game scares me something fierce. Saint is dangerous and they've got nothing to lose.

Saint seems well coached to me in the film I have seen. Freedom has a good coach too obviously but you have to wonder if they will come out fired up looking to redeem themselves or still thinking about last week. I think Freedom needs to jump out to a lead early on. If you let Saint get the lead early it will be tough.

Speaking of Watauga. I‘ve never seen them play but going to wait until they play in the playoffs. I like to see them vs Charlotte Catholic or someone like Ashbrook. Watauga is on my bucket list of teams to see.

I wish Watauga could play against more charlotte teams nonconference, but we all know budget and logistics play such a large part, its difficult to make it happen.

McDowell with some very questionable decision making. Had 13 seconds and a first down and decided to kick the field goal instead of spiking it and getting the ball closer or going for a TD.

They should have kicked a onside kick after the last td. Ac is terrible at recovering them!

They made some bad decisions tonight. Should have kicked a field goal when they had 4th and goal earlier on in the 4th quarter...

Hats off to AC they fought hard and ran the ball well. The kickoff return TD killed McDowell

They played well, but just like in the TCR game, I was never worried that the Patriots were about to lose. In both games our opponents were trying to fight back to tie it, but I thought we were essentially in control. Saint might have pulled off a Hail Mary there at the end, but the Freedom defense contested every ball in the air (nearly getting two interceptions), and Saint was scrambling for time to throw.

McDowell really struggles with run defense and it makes it that their offense has to be almost perfect and it wasn't last night. McDowell was inside the AC 35 3 or 4 times without scoring. They were inside the 15 twice without scoring. They dropped multiple passes, turned it over on downs, had a FG blocked. They also allowed the 2nd half kickoff to be returned for a TD.

The offense has to play perfect to have a chance vs Saint

I also said maybe there are other reasons. I’m just looking for attention so no worries. No one is scared and it’s just not a game anyone wanted. No one has attempted to set it up over the last five years.
