December doesn't mean much if you are atrocious in January. AJ Smith should be reminded everyday how big of an idiot he is for not resigning Brees and getting rid of Marty, they would have won atleast 1 SB if they wouldn't have croomed that situation.

6'5 Jackson, 6'5 Floyd, 6'4 Gates. All PR has to do is throw it up.

As for the other poster who was hazing AJ Smith, I don't totally disagree with you that Smith is an ***-clown, however, the passing game has not been the problem since Brees' departure. The error wasn't letting Brees go (although they did screw up for not getting anything in return for Turner or Brees), the error was drafting another QB to begin with. They thought Brees wasn't the answer even before he got injured. I am one of the biggest Brees fans on the planet, but Rivers is no slouch. The Chargers knew he was good and had to let someone go.

Although I will say that AJ will totally redeem himself in my eyes if he will take an OL or NT in the first round and Dixon in the 2nd round of the upcoming draft.

but you are right, they have to improve at the OL position. LT is not nearly as bad as many ppl think, their line is just terrible. Losing Lorenzo Neal has also hurt LT. Think Dixon would be a great pick also for them.

Granted, they haven't won a SB yet, but they took down Indy the last 2 years in the playoffs and won 2 playoff games in the 07-08 season.

Not to mention their playoff losses have come against New England and Pitt, two of the best franchises of the decade.

The top-heavy AFC is too loaded to criticize a team like San Diego for not getting it done in the playoffs. No team has won more games than Indy in the last decade, then you have New England and the Steelers, and San Diego hasn't been blown out in any of those playoff games. Hell, two years ago when they took down Indy, both Rivers and Tomlinson were playing on one leg. It takes a supremely talented team playing at its absolute best to get to the SB from the AFC.

Another misconception is that the Chargers are this unbelievably talent-heavy team. They have taken serious losses over the last few years. Now I will say that our passing attack and defensive backfield are two of the tops in the league, but the O-Line, D-Line and LB's are league average at best (OL less than average).

The NFL "experts" are finally catching on to this too. He might not be a game-breaker anymore, but he is still a very solid RB. Half the time he carries the ball he is getting hit or at least chipped in the backfield.
