Not a good day for the Mississippi baseball Rebels.

They had 2 freshmen players that were expected to be major contributors kicked off of the team today. Also assistant coach Reinstetle resigned just moments ago.

The other two, I don't know. Both were freshmen. The Frazar kid was supposed to be good.

I haven't been a big fan of Reinstetle, but knowing Bianco, he'll hire another Yes Man, and nothing will change.

Is Reinstetle why you have not made it to Omaha? Your team is damn good every year with him but in Ole Miss tradition they choke. With him gone are you going to make it to Omaha? You have done everything else with him. So if he is not the reason then thing can only stay the same or get worse.

Who are you going to get 2 months before the season starts that would be any better than Reinstetle?

I guess that they could use Lafferty or Mossberg as the hitting coach. I bet they promote from within- at least for now.

Although to play devil's advocate, MSU hired Ron Polk after fall practice in 1975 and that worked out OK.

One thing that is a possibility is that some MLB team could have possibly hired Reinstetle as a scout. That's not very juicy or anything, but this is the time of the year that happens. Although, if I was a college assistant baseball coach, it would have to be a VERY good scouting job as far as pay for me to quit. Most scouts don't get paid jack. Who know's, if that's what it is, he may be thinking that his path to pro ball in some capacity. As much as I love baseball, I could only watch so many legion ball games before I wondered where the hell my life went wrong.

were actually the assistants before Reinstetle, who came in after the 2007 season. They should get partial credit for the first two chokes.

And there's no 17ing way he left because he got a better job scouting for a MLB team. Something's wrong here and it's probably not good news for the Rebels.

how he and Bianco got along.

Maybe Reinstetle didn't agree with Bianco's decision to kick the guys off of the team or something- but to the point that you resign in Dec.?

It is odd.

and Reinstetle "resigning" are related in some way. How I don't have a clue, but this is definitely not good news for the UM baseball program.</p>

is that he could be going to Arizona State to coach. They recently fired Pat Murphy, and they lost their hitting coach Andy Stankiweitz (sp).

I'm stuck on the phrase "better for my family" because I can't see how resigning as a baseball coach right now would benefit your family.

I do agree that it probably is related to those two players getting dismissed, because otherwise this is a big coincidence, but I do want to exhaust all options for the guy.
