He needs to cut down on the picks & Mariotta need one more bad game. That combined with Dak playing well and winning against Alabama would be hard to beat. Mariotta is going to be good and solid but I do not see him as having a breakout game in a huge game that would seal it for him. All he has left is Colorado, Utah and Oregon State (and probably a 2 or 3 loss team in the Pac 12 championship). None of those are the type of competition that will earn him stripes the way beating Bama and TSUN would do for Dak.
Hell of a season so far for sure.... Would be interesting to see Mariotas numbers here too.
Wow. I had no idea he had thrown for more yards than Cam at this point. It's amazing hearing how people have been trying to downplay his stats up to this point as if he's been looking pedestrian.

26 Passing TDs (33 Total) with only 2 INTs is just insane. Mariota is a man amongst boys no doubt. If Dak comes in second, I'll understand why.

If Dak Prescott gets little old Mississippi State to 13-0, he will win the Heisman. He has performances against Alabama and Ole Miss awaiting. If he puts up 200/100 3+TD games against both of those teams and wins, it's his no matter how much Mariota lights up awful PAC-12 passing defenses.

13-0 is a lock
12-1 with a SEC championship win is a lock
12-1 with a SEC championship loss is probably still a lock
11-2 with a loss to Ole Miss or Alabama and an SEC championship loss is a toss up with Mariota if Oregon wins out
11-1 with a loss to Ole Miss or Alabama and no SEC championship game appearance is a toss up with Mariota if Oregon wins out
10-2 with no SEC championship game appearance and Dak finishes second unless Oregon takes a second loss
So worst cast scenario I say Dak wins the Heisman as long as we win 10 games and Oregon takes a second loss. Otherwise, MSU needs a Division Championship at minimum in order to make it a sure thing.
