Not sure if it's factual, but Stans said in pregame interview last night

That UK has MADE more free throws than anybody in the SEC has ATTEMPTED this year.<div>
</div><div>Now, I realize that UK makes it an emphasis to drive to the bucket and get to the line, but that, to me, is a very telling statistic.</div><div>
</div><div>By the way, there were some horrible calls last night, but UK was obviously the better team so this is not another "blame the refs" thread. I just thought that was interesting, to say the least.</div>

They have an inside game and athletes that get to the basket and force you to foul.

Not only that, but they've won all but 1 of their games. Usually most of the free throw disparity in games comes in the final minutes of games when the team leading spends every possession at the line, and the team losing never goes to the line. If you have 10 more wins than most of the teams in the league, that's a lot more free throw attempts.

I didn't watch the whole game last night, but the officiating was definitely pathetic in the bits I saw.

For the record, I just checked the stats. UK has 455 free throws made on 634 attempts. The most attempts in the SEC outside of them is Arkansas with 605 attempts, so it's really not even close to what Stans said. Ole Miss has 586. Vanderbilt has 572. Florida has 559. MSU has 512. Auburn has 510. Tennessee has 507. Alabama has 480.

LSU, Georgia, and South Carolina are the only 3 teams in the SEC that have fewer FT attempts than UK has FT makes. They have 439, 423, and 401 respectively.

Not sure where Stans got his number, but I did notice that UK has the best FT percentage of all SEC teams, which bodes will for them come tourney time.
