Not sure if posted earlier, but Renfroe wins SEC POTW.

He's like Chris Stratton as far as his jump statistically from sophomore to junior.

I don't know if I'd go that far. At least Renfroe was an asset to the team last year. Stratton was downright ****** in 2011. It's damn near a miracle what happened to him.

Woodruff, all day. Although I wouldn't be surprised to see Britton break out next year and be a force at SS (assuming Frazier goes pro).

Renfroe 12 .252 4 hr's 25 rbi's
Renfroe 13 .429 13 hr 's 42 rbi's

Keep in mind hunters missed games and sec season is just half over. First half pitchers were better than second half will be. He's made a Stratton like jump

Speaking of, what is Frazier's draft stock these days?

I'm no scout, but I don't think he'll be picked very high. If you're a singles hitter at ss, you've gotta have a andrelton Simmons type glove which Adam doesn't have.

He will play second in the minors.

But I don't know how much he could improve his draft stock by coming back. He's never going to hit for power or or have a cannon.

I would advise him to leave while he has some bargaining power. Especially if he goes top 15 rounds.

Agree with Woodruff and Britton. I still have hope that Britton will be a good player for us....if he sticks around.

2nd base has become an odd position in the majors.

ESPN had an interesting write up on 2nd base and what it has become, which is a bunch of guys who were drafted at some other infield position and couldn't handle it due to lack of range, lack of a strong arm, etc. Article said the Top 6 2nd baseman in WAR last year weren't even drafted as a 2nd baseman.

I actually think Frazier could be a major league 2nd baseman on a national league team as an 8 hole hitter. Not long term, but I think he could end up getting a shot. He's a solid contact guy, doesn't strikeout a lot, can turn a double play pretty well, and has a good enough glove and range to play 2nd base. If you look at some of the 2nd baseman in the majors right now, there are about 6-8 guys that I would want, and then there's everyone else. Hell, Chris Getz, the starting 2nd baseman for the Royals, hit his first homerun tonight in his last 900+ games played. Don't need power at 2B to start in the majors.

I think Frazier could find a way in the majors, not in a long term role, but I think for a few years he could be a decent 8 hole hitter than can play some decent 2B.

Why wouldn't he stick around? Especially when we'll probably be even better overall next year and going forward. Like I said, he's the heir apparent at SS (or even 2B) if Frazier goes pro. Pirtle may move to SS. Norris or Detz will be the 3rd baseman next year. I guess Hann could beat him out, but I don't see that happening, he'll probably take over for Pirtle or Detz the following year when he's a Jr. And you know Flair is going to likely be DH-ing, for sure not in the field.

In other words, Ryan Theriot.

Somewhere over in a basement in Lafayette County, fat fingers are typing away at an anonymous e-mail to the NCAA about the need for PED testing in Starkville.
