Now if we judge every team by the Indiana standard

Indeed. Every visiting team didn't belong in the first round.

Wild how that works. Wild.

I expect to see a lot of posts about how Tennessee didn’t belong and they need to change the criteria to avoid these fraud teams.
It’s fun to bash UT, but they did beat one good team and as many 6-6 teams as Indiana did. Had Indiana beaten one good team and only lost to OSU, I don’t think anybody would be offended by them being included. UT also lost to a 6-6 team, so their resume wasn’t great either.

There was no way to change the criteria to keep either Indiana or Tennessee from getting in this year. They maybe should have been seeded lower, but both had to be in.

Tennessee also caught some bad luck with Ohio State laying that egg against Michigan and dropping to the 8-seed. Had they won that game and beaten Oregon in the rematch, they are the 1-seed.

The bigger argument was SMU….who played in the worst conference, played one of the worst schedules in said conference, still never beat anyone, had a loss to a team outside the Top 15, didn’t win the bad conference championship, but still got in due to gerrymandering of the final rankings.

First round road games are pointless. Home team will win 100% of the time

Y’all need to get over that crap. You’ll never make schedules equal. If you get lucky and get an easy one, and take advantage, great. That’s what makes college sports worth watching.

I don’t think anybody is looking for equal schedules, but ideally every team in the playoffs would be undefeated or will have beaten one good team. If you can get into the playoffs by not losing to bad teams, then everybody is incentivized to play as many bad teams as possible.

I’d much rather the committee reward teams for beating good teams, as that would encourage good games in the regular season.

I can promise you that Vegas isn't happy with this first round BS.

And that's a big mistake.

They need to be at a bowl where it is a neutral site. Even conference championships are at neutral sites exception is SEC when Georgia plays.

Imagine this. You have a top 15 team, and the biggest game of the year, you get to play at home. National TV, stadium maxed out, home game in your place. Your team is rested, recovered and ready to roll.

10 times out of 10 the home team in college wins that game.

Do you judge on potential, ie Bama, Ole Miss, and South Carolina? Those "potential teams" also have potential to lose to **** teams. Indiana at least proved that they wouldn't lose to those **** teams.
