Now that MSU is 6-2...I'd like to see Russell

...and see if there is any improvement. Relf's passing tonight was &^%$#. The throws to Clark on the post and the throw to Heavens on the flag...&^%$#. Clark was soooo wide open and would've scored with a decent throw. Heavens also had beat his man for an easy completion...if the ball was thrown anywhere near the sideline. Yes, Relf has taken us to 6-2...just want to see if Russell looks any better.

I really don't care who the QB is. Russell throws a pretty pass, but I'm comfortable with the ugly wins.

that the 2nd team QB is always the best QB at MSU, according to our fans.

Because we have 6 wins we can now throw caution to the wind and play our backup QB for fun? If we were 2-6 you'd have a right to be calling for the backup.

What is the deal with the Russell obsession? He is a RS Freshman that will get his chance. Right now he is the backup.

didn't say anything about who is best. The passing game has completely stalled. I'm wondering if shaking things up a bit and playing Russell would help. Maybe Russell has improved...maybe not. The bye week after Kentucky game can't get here fast enough. Team needs to rest and work on improving the passing game.

You never know. Watching from the sidelines may have helped him. Maybe not...he might just get in there and eye the receiver and throw into triple coverage. But, Relf is sooo inaccurate, that the passing game seems hopeless with him.

Passing game hasn't stalled. We are running the ball and picking out spots. Mullen called a horrible game. We aren't running near any of the pass plays that we had against Memphis early on. Sure Ralph missed some passes, but that pass to Heavens at the end was just as beautiful as the rest were ugly and then Mullen followed it up with pitiful plays. Ralph missed one quick pass late but he had to take the snap off his shoetops. As bad as the snaps have been the past couple of weeks from Saulsberry and Brignone, I think Ralph deserves some credit for taking care of the ball.

than your creativewriting skills I think. If you think Relf is better then there is no need to post what you did.

There were two sure TDs that he missed - one to Heavens and one to Clark. Relf looked horrible throwing the ball most of the night.

indicate that Relf can't run the passing part of the spread, or the coaches have no confidence in his ability to run the passing part of the spread. I like Relf and he has lead us to six wins, but there are no more easy games and if we can't execute the passing game any better than this, we are going to struggle the rest of the year.

Who cares if we throw for 25 yards if we keep winning? I don't, and if anyone else on here does they have obviously forgotten the fact that we have been to 1 bowl in the past decade.

I blame some of that on Mullen. He's basically run two pass plays with Ralph in the past several weeks. The long developing post pattern with Arceto Clark and the go route with usually Arceto. Tonight, he actually ran one with Heavens and Ralph laid it in there.

The one quick WR screen he missed tonight, like I said, he had to pick up off his shoes and then stand up and deliver a pass. Where are the crossing routes with Bumphis? Out routes? We ran ONE quick slant and Ralph put it in Arceto's numbers and that one was early. Didn't run another all night. Dan's trying to outsmart himself and have Ralph hit a big homerun, but if you notice those plays take SOOO long to develop that he's sitting in the pocket for 5-6 seconds or more twiddling his thumbs waiting for a receiver to flash open.

I'm not saying he didn't have a bad night but ****, he's only thrown 39 passes in the last 3 games. We need to be running more pass plays like Houston: quick hitters, WR screens, short 5-10 yard crosses, slants, RUNNING BACK SCREENS instead of trying to make a 40 yard post work.

but here again, I'm not sure that Relf can do that stuff. Dan didn't all of a sudden forget how to run an offense when he left Florida. Relf is also REALLY bad about staring down a WR and it's hard to run quick developing plays when your QB's brain doesn't go that fast. We tried to throw earlier in the year, and it cost us a couple of games.
