We are 103 after our win yesterday, the lowest ranked of any SEC team other than South Carolina at 115. Interestingly, we were 123 before yesterday’s game, which goes to show how volatile the NET rankings are at this time. Good news is we have no quad 3 or 4 losses. Bad news is we have no quad 1 or 2 wins. The best team we beat in the non conference was Memphis, who is ranked 104. Georgia Tech is so bad (ranked 178) that even our road win over them is only quad 3. We have an opportunity to get a quad 1 win right off the bat with a road game against Texas on Saturday. They are ranked 54th in NET.
Now that non conference play is over, we can look at NET rankings

There are 3 losses that suck - San Fran, New Mexico and SMU. Win 2 of those 3 and you are 10-3 with some hope for a tournament appearance.

Won’t be good enough to make the tourney with how poorly we’ve played in the nonconference, but you have to think that somehow we’ll figure out a way to get to 8-10 in SEC play. That has been our exact regular season record for 5 straight years now, which is just incredibly weird to me.
SMU (31 NET) and New Mexico (58) would’ve both been quad 2 wins, while San Francisco will most likely wind up being a quad 3 loss. Their NET ranking is 98 and conference play will most likely drag that down into the 100s.
If it matters later, we may get a pass on the San Francisco & SMU losses because of the Hubbard injury. We just have to win enough SEC games for it to be relevant which will be a challenge.
