Now that the ink has dried, a question I have been pondering.

Was Moncrief the key to this whole class? Back in the summer all the top guys in MS wanted to come to State but we wouldn't sign or even talk to this guy. Other tops were trying to get him to come to MSU but Moncrief said he wasn't getting any love. Did our lack of recruiting him turn the whole class?

He said Moncrief may not even make it to Ole Miss because everyone is expecting him to get offered a 6 figure baseball contract when the draft comes around.Seems like a nice name to have on paper, but I guess we thought either the baseball thing wasn't worth recruiting him, or we felt good aboutour chances with Brassel/Singleton.

It would have been great to get him, but I don't think it mattered that much. We had these guys committed, and we couldn't close it. I think the Cam stuff didn't help. I'm sure OM used that against us, because if I were an MSU coach and the samesituation was hangin around OM, I would have done the same thing.

us was that the group of recruits who were on the take quickly realized if they wanted "stuff" they wouldn't get it from us. So yea, I'm sure that did turn off some especially when some realized that "stuff" was flowing pretty freely in other places.
