Now that we are done, do we fire Bradley and hire someone new?

The first half problems this team has had for well over a year are just inexcusable. I've never seen a team in any sport start games so flat as this team. And it hasn't just been the World Cup, we gave up a lot of early goals and came back from a lot of deficits to win in qualifying too. He deserves credit for instilling a mental toughness and never quit attitude in the team, but you just can't continue to have to fight from behind. Also, several of his coaching decisions were just bewildering. Why heloved Ricardo Clark and Robbie Findley so much is a mystery to me.

As for who to bring in, we could have hired Jurgen Klinnsmann 4 years. He might still take the job now. Other than that, I don't know. I don't think we need to promote from within again though. We need to go out and hire a European (or South American) manager.</p>

He was a vast improvement over Bruce Arena. But if we want to become a top-10 power, we have to go hire a European coach. I say European, because I think our style of play is more typical of a European team than a South American team. Starting Clark in the game yesterday was the final straw, to me. He even admitted he screwed up 30 minutes in. And we could've used that sub when we got to extra time to sub out one of our midfielders that was totally gassed.

By subbing Clark out after only 30 minutes, he knew he was admitting to the whole world that he'd screwed up and that it would just make the criticism he would face that much worse, but he did it anyway. Some managers would have played him until halftime and then tried to defend starting him.

Your Europe v. South America rationale is on point. I think the German is the perfect choice. German teams are known for their toughness and direct style. I think Klinsmann is the perfect coach for this team.

Hopefully our soccer federation will just do what it takes to get him on board instead of all the foolishness from 3-4 years ago. Like I said, Bradley was a clear upgrade from Arena. But I think we're maxed out with Bradley.
