Now that we're two games in...

I'm basically at the same place, 8-4, I've just revised my optimistic scenario to no more than 9-3 (not that that's not still pretty optimistic). I moved A&M from MSU being slightly favored to win to being a likely loss. I feel better about playing Bama but not enough to change anything. I feel about the same with Auburn and about the same with LSU. I feel a little better about playing UM.
I'm guessing losses to A&M, LSU, Bama, and Auburn. I know we're in Oxford, but I just don't see how they're going to score on us this year when they couldn't last year. As long as Dak stays healthy, I think we'll be able to score some on them and win a relatively low scoring game.
Before I thought 10-2 was possible if a little unrealistic and thought we had a decent chance to get to 9-3 by beating everybody but LSU, Bama, and Auburn. If we make it to 9-3 now, I'm guessing it will be by beating Auburn at home, not A&M.
Right now TAMU and Kentucky look better than I was expecting. TAMU is
much better and we will have a tough time beating them. Kentucky is not going to be easy
at their place either. I am not sure about Ole Miss yet so I can't say. I still think we could win a game we shouldn't so I am about at the same place. 9 on the high side 7 on the low side.

I'm sorely tempted to drop my prediction to 8-4, not just due to A&M but also the announcement of the LSU game time and the horror story that is our kickers.
However, Auburn looks more vulnerable on D than I was expecting, and Dak is as good as advertised. If we can keep him healthy, we can win 9.

Eh, tough call. I think our schedule is going to be a little better than we though. Before the season, I thought we had a great chance at going 3-0 against UK, Ark, and OM. Now, I'm thinking we probably drop one.
Also, Dak's health concerns me. It's awfully early in the season for him to have a banged up wheel.

I'm getting mixed signals on Dak. I've heard from a few people it was nothing more than a slight pain. From the way Mullen turned him loose Saturday, I tend to think that injury was overblown. But I agree with you, it's not good to hear regardless of the degree to which he was hurt.
I still think we pull an upset this year. I see Dak being good enough to get us at least on big win.

7-5. We'll beat either arky or om but not both, likely going to be arky and home. I think that is what I predicted originally, maybe not though because I thought om was going to be tougher. Really expected us to beat aTm. I said a number of times before the season started that Sumlin was going to have a dominant offense and wouldn't skip a beat.
I'll still be livid at 7. I have not written off the ole miss or auburn games.

Nope I'm not changing anything based off 2 games. If we continue to struggle in the secondary then yes we will be a 7 win team at best. I'm not ready to write us off after one disappointing showing by the defense. Texas A&M looks much better than I anticipated that one will be tough to win but not impossible.

This is silliness. We should beat both of them. Both teams' strengths match with our strengths. Arkansas will struggle to run the ball against us and Ole Miss will struggle to stop our running game. Plus, Ole Miss has a real shot to lose five in a row (!) if Tennessee is as improved as I think they are. To me, beating Ole Miss is more of a certainty than the sun coming up tomorrow.
Anything less than 8 wins for this team is a disappointment. The talent is there. Mullen needs to get out of his own damn way.
You serious? You've watched us play haven't you? What have we done that's makes you guarantee we'll be om and arky? I haven't seen anything. I saw a team who can't stop the deep pass and there's nothing you can say otherwise to disprove the fact that we can stop it. And don't say last years team because this ain't last years team. If you want to use that logic then we would have been unstoppable in 01.
