Used to be, quit when President Bush did. The NRA basically was taken over by the Gun Industry, that was the year they called the ATF Jack Booted Thugs. I don't hate them though, they are doing what they need to to get folks to buy as many guns as possible.

I never have been and have no plans to join. I just don't believe the NRA is the scapegoat they are made out to be by a lot of people. I would rather deal with the factual root causes of these school and mass shooting than play...."pin it on the donkey". But hell.... there are votes to be gained and that's the way we roll today.

Well to me, the NRA makes total sense, they are lobbying for the gun industry, and the gun industry, like any industry, wants to make money and maximize their share holders profits, mainly by having folks buy as much ammo and as many guns as they can. They pour money into candidates and are heavily involved in every election tearing apart anyone who even mentions gun control. They have a grading system for every elected official. Believe me, I have friends who check that grade every time they vote, it's what makes Union dudes vote for folks pushing right to work laws! So I'm not a member anymore and I don't think what they do is for any other reason than to sell guns. They went through a major overhaul with their board back in the late 80s early 90s I think which really changed their vision. It is to the NRAs advantage to make out anyone proposing any gun regulation to be trying to take away your guns, I get that, so I just haven't re upped my membership.
