Anyone have any thoughts on the favorite for this? I see the OWH tweeted out two of the candidates. What is the timeline?

My guess would be Dr. Troy Unzicker. He's been on the Board of Directors for a long time. Good guy as well.

I have no inside information but I believe Unzicker's experience with the NSAA would give him a slight edge.

Don’t know all the candidates but I talked to someone who recently retired from the Board and he told me he is hearing the staff wants a metro AD .

The six finalists for NSAA Executive Director are:

Mike Brockhaus	Elgin Public Schools	Superintendent
Dr. Chad Denker	David City Public Schools	Superintendent
Dade McDonald	McCool Junction Public Schools	Superintendent
Dr. Josh McDowell	Crete Public Schools	Superintendent
Jason Ryan	Papillion-La Vista High School	Principal
Dr. Troy Unzicker	Alliance Public Schools	Superintendent

The board will interview the finalists on November 18th in Lincoln and will announce its selection after contract negotiations are concluded and hope to approve the new Executive Director contract at the December 10th NSAA Board Meeting


Mike Brockhaus
In his 36th year in education and seventh as Elgin's superintendent.

Dr. Chad Denker
Has led David City since 2013 and has 24 years of administrative experience.

Dade McDonald
Has led McCool Junction since 2021, before that he spent nine years as the district's K-12 principal.

Dr. Josh McDowll
Has led Crete Public Schools since 2019 and prior to that served as Chief Transformation Officer for Grand Island Public Schools.

Jason Ryan
Has served in his current role as principal at Papillion-La Vista High School since 2022. Prior to that he served for nine years as the school's assistant principal and director of athletics and activities.

Has served as superintendent at Alliance since 2013 and has been a Nebraska superintendent for 21 years.
