5-7 is what I see. This is based on coaching and ability to adjust. Rhule is a great speaker and I think he means well, but when it comes to the X's and O's the man falls short. I hope he proves me wrong, but it is obvious we have no identity
He runs off his best coaches. He can't identify or develop talent. He looks like a deer in headlights on the sideline. Overall, Rhule is a weak incompetent leader that fleeced the state of Nebraska.

Sounds about right. This is where NU is now. Nothing this program has done to give me any hope for next season. Just a staff cashing big checks while the team struggles to achieve another meaningless bowl game.
It's not all on the staff either. These players year after year don't appear to have any more dedication and discipline than anyone else on our schedule. They get more perks than any players in the history of our program, but never play well against good competition.

This is NU there should ALWAYS be pressure. Stupid Trev and a lot of the fans bought into this lame "Rebuilding and developing" crap.

There are no passes. Each season is the most important season.
We are certainly “rebuilding”, what we are building I have no idea. As far as development that’s been pretty much nonexistent.

Fukc.

What was it? 6.5?

Regardless, that's terrible for a year 4 coach at a major program.

Big boy programs with an ounce of self respect would have pulled the plug.

Us? EXTENSION BABY!!
Last year I think it was 7.5

we haven’t eclipsed our expected win total since 2017 or something like that

So we are going to have a bunch of rich folks on this board it appears. I am sure y'all are laying a couple grand on the under, right. Let's see the slips after the bets are made.
Which side do you like, Tuco?

Just kidding. Having actual skin in the game goes against the vow you took when you became a passive aggressive holier than thou douche.

This shouldn't surprise anyone. See, when you hire a .500 coach, expect .500 results. 5-7, 6-6 and 7-5 is the best we will see in most cases... Sure, he might have a 8 or 9 win season every 6 years but that would be followed up by a 4-8 or 3-9 win season respectively.
See how it all evens out for a .500 coach?

I'll make a bet on the total, I do every season. I'll post when I have time to get over to Louisiana to place the bet.

Grab 6 before the spring scrimmage. Kool Aid will be oozing out of our fanbase’s pores after watching Colandrea slice and dice our backup defense.

I usually make the call after the spring games. When you can get a bit of an idea of how teams look after watching on BTN.

I guess I don’t put much stock in spring scrimmages. Maybe you get an idea of QB play. My number is 6. Maybe a line move to 6.5 would make it more logical to bet the under. 7 seems like unlikely with the schedule. 5 seems easy. 😒

absolutely spot on.. you can see it in his demeanor.. I thought he might be on some medication actually. I didn't think he would be able to handle the pressure here when they hired him, but it's actually a bit alarming to see how this is affecting him negatively. I'm hoping for a nice spring game that gets some of the fans off his back. A guy can't function at his best when the nervous system is maxed out like that day after day.

He is welcome to resign over medical concerns. Nebraska nice would love to see him focus on his health at that point.

Currently his stress is entirely of his own doing. He thought we were dumb hicks that would believe his rambling self promotions.

Resign, hat man, save your health, the pressure will really become something if losses to either Ohio or NDSU happen.

And Husker fans will bet that line up to 6.5.
I remember the opening win total going into Mike Riley's final year was like 5.5 or 6.5

I couldn't believe it. Coming off a 9-4 season and we were finally going to be getting a QB (Tanner Lee) who fit that system, hype from the Calibraska recruits, etc... Seemed like easy money so I loaded up on the overs. Something like $400 (my typical wager is $20-$30).

Boy did I take a bath early in the season. Fortunately my bookie felt sorry for me and took $100 off.

My bookie feels sorry for me sometimes...so he named his new boat after me.

Fully expected 5.5 - sad to see it come in but that’s why they play the games. If we can knock off a big team and Iowa and win 6 or 7, I would feel a lot better.

This has been the case for over a decade. There's something psychological going on with the ratio of expectations/perks/history/results being way out of whack at NU, and it obviously goes above and beyond any one coach or AD or group of players.
