I am a bit surprised that we stayed in the rankings too. But then again when you look at it, there's a whole lot of teams with 3 and 4 losses and not a whole lot with fewer, so there's not a whole lot of obvious teams that can go above us.
Coach's perhaps under stood our QB situation going in to the game.... Which I'm making excuses for our porous defense play but they also lost one more game to a FCS school who happens to be the best program in that division.
Thought we would fall out of the rankings as well. There is still a glimmer of hope!! Winking
Ended the regular season ranked, that is a good thing. Unfortunately, I had gotten my hopes up for something top 15ish though.
I'll take it....being ranked is never bad...everyone looks at polls....our name needs to be consistently on them.
Our 3 losses came against 2 top 10 and 1 top 25 opponent....So you had to be a good team to beat us....That's improvement.

You can say that about 15 teams....we didn't lose too any non ranked teams.....who else can say that...Louisville, Clemson, Florida St, Houston, Boise St, etc....all lost to teams with that are unranked.....I think this is actually right where we belong...fringe top 25.
Win a bowl game and we'll be top 15-20. Really about the best I expected coming in to this year with the roster we have.
But did we beat any ranked teams? Nebraska is about where they should be with that uninspired performance Friday.
Losing to every good team we play shouldn't be a badge of honor. Not losing to bad teams is great and a good step forward but we need to start beating ranked teams before we get too excited about being ranked. 9-3 before the season would've been satisfactory for sure, and it still is now. But Oregon sucks and we didn't really beat anyone that's very good.
Crap... I'll take the badge off... thought I could get away with wearing it for at least a week.
I will still take 10-3 and ranked if possible.
