As for the rivalry, it's dead. Thanks OU. Thanks B12. I thought it mattered more than Texas/OU. Tom Osborne/Barry Switzer. Day after Thanksgiving. It was my favorite game of the year. You know how quiet it got in Lincoln after a loss to OU? It was eerie even when the game was down in Norman. I truly miss those days.
I'd go to the parties out on Commerce Street as a youngster and be wearing my Nebraska sweatshirt. Proud of it. No OU fans gave me any crap. We were equals, even if some OU fans might say otherwise. Two storied programs.
The B1G had Michigan/Ohio State. The Big 8 had Nebraska/OU. Somehow, we let that piss away. Traditions down the toilet. One by one. Next they'll take away the horseshoe in the tunnel walk and replace it with a lucky rabbit's foot.
This 2 game home and home was announced several years ago under Coach Osborne's watch (while he was the AD). My son and I were just talking about this last week and that we'll plan this for our road game road trip in 2021. That is provided I live that long.
even though its a few years out, i am looking forward to a game that'll be nearby again!
