The only thing that has me worried about this team is if something happens to Danielle.Hopefully we won’t find out,but man if we had another top pitcher we would be a big time threat for the College World Series.Well we won 2 today so let’s enjoy and see what tomorrow brings.
Cats take on #5 Washington this afternoon, followed by Cal St Fullerton in the nightcap. This is the Cats' 4th top 10 opponent this year, and appears to be the last ranked team we will play for some time.

Actually, it wasn't extra innings. Fullerton took a 2 run lead in the top of the 7th, and NU scored once in the bottom of the 7th to fall by 1. However, the point remains - the 'Cats really need a first rate pitcher other than Danielle. Re-match with Texas Tech this morning to wrap up the tourney in Palm Springs. It will be interesting to see who pitches.
'Cats drop another one, this time to Texas Tech. Boyd started, gave up 3 runs and took the loss. NU made a valiant effort in the top of the 7th on a 2-run homer by Nieto. Lewis made the final out with a runner on first. Schedule gets much easier shortly.
Despite the last 2 games, the softball Cats are still ranked # 11 in the new poll released today. Unfortunately, since besides Danielle pitching is iffy it likely will be tough to eventually move up into the Top 5.
Glad to hear this. Boyd was very highly regarded coming out of high school. Hope this kind of game builds some confidence.
The Cats have a couple of games against Missouri in Columbia on the 18th and 19th of this month.Would be nice to take that pair as Missouri is ranked just behind NU.
After a weekend off, the Cats get back to work in Columbia MO with a 4PM game against Ball St. Today's game against Missouri has been washed out.
Saturday the Cats are scheduled for a game each against Ball St and Mizzou, and close out the weekend Sunday against Stanford at 10AM.

Danielle pitched relief for 2 innings in the Ball St game. If the plan is to use Danielle against Missouri(rated #18) she will not be well-rested
Lady Cats won 9-6 in 10 innings. Danielle (in relief) pitched 7 innings so presumably will not be available tomorrow. She gave up 4 runs( 2 earned ) and walked 5 ..perhaps she was a bit tired as she pitched 2 innings versus Ball State earlier in the day.
