Prognodicate? Is that making a prediction in your sleep, or predicting a snoozer.?Never thought I'd say the Cats are outmatched against the Terps, but that seems to be the case this year.
Time to prognodticate:

Maybe all the Norco I’m on following knee replacement surgery Tuesday is clouding my judgement but I agree with Alaska.Someone has to be a contrarian.

As a knee replacement survivor, I offer best wishes and encouragement for you to follow the prescribed rehab regimen fully. Doing so brought me an extra 15 years (at least) of mobility after having reached a real quality-of-life state. Here's hoping you realize the same success. Had both knees done and a hip. Quality of life is much better! Ice and religiously do your scoots, bendings, and all rehab. Be a workout warrior! Just not very engaged at this point, obviously....Prognodicate? Is that making a prediction in your sleep, or predicting a snoozer.?
Question for you Dr. Rebel, I recently had a lower back strain with sciatica. That has resolved, but it affected my left knee, with compromised cartilage and ultimately a fracture that developed. It is improving where I can do most activities without much pain/discomfort, however, I see a knee replacement at some point. Do you have any recommendations for forestalling that? I suspect, the PT they recommend is important.Had both knees done and a hip. Quality of life is much better! Ice and religiously do your scoots, bendings, and all rehab. Be a workout warrior! Some PT is excellent but it is absolutely imperative that you become of the workout warrior mentality that I talked about. My physician recommended going as long as I could before surgery and he was correct. That usually means you are bone on bone in your knee socket. I’ll second what Rebel said. I was bone on bone for years, even walked over 400 miles on the Route of St. James with it. But try to anticipate the end of your endurance and schedule the surgery before that. I waited about four months too long and I got to the point where I could walk very little. Some PT is excellent but it is absolutely imperative that you become of the workout warrior mentality that I talked about. Talk to your orthopede about PRP / HLA injections. It did wonders for my arthritic knee.Question for you Dr. Rebel, I recently had a lower back strain with sciatica. Wow, thank you! I'm taking oral HLA, but need to wait three months from a Cortisone shot for an HLA injection. Oral is helping. I have a borderline arthritic knee. I've given my horse HLA which worked, until he moved on to more intensive remedies, like Osphos, which I don't think humans can withstand. What is PRP?Talk to your orthopede about PRP / HLA injections. It did wonders for my arthritic knee.

49-3, Cats. Sympathy field goal at the end.
Had some discomforting pain for 4 days after surgeries, but little if any pain during rehab period. The knee will bend and straighten, friggin' amazing!!!Rebel,
Thanks for the perspective. It will help when the pain kicks in and I will want to give up.
Of interest to go back and see how right or wrong we were. Even with my optimistic post I underestimated the Cats' final score. Then that Maryland projection did hold until close to the end of the game.Someone has to be a contrarian.

No Chores,My wife had both knees done at the same time, after 8 prior knee surgeries. Rehab was tough, but she worked diligently at it. The final result was great, and she hasn't had a single problem since. There is absolutely no legitimate reason to wait if you are bone on bone in either or both knees.
Life can be very rewarding for those who do no chores! (I do not regard bringing an iced up cooler of beer to a tailgate as a chore.)No Chores,
Thanks for the insight. I waited about a year too long. But when I considered doing it about a year ago the hospital would not allow an overnight stay due to Covid concerns.
I am definitely no chores for the next few weeks!
Thanks. And I agree about the rewarding nature of not doing chores.Life can be very rewarding for those who do no chores! (I do not regard bringing an iced up cooler of beer to a tailgate as a chore.)
Just be very diligent with your rehab, and I'm sure you'll get a great result!![]()
