Well, State has CJ Johnson, Brassell, Whitehead, Arrington, Maiden, Morrow, and Joe Price with OM offers. Several of those UM has made a big push for. UM on the other hand has beaten MSU on Morris, Karmon Wood, Golson, and Mayers. I dont believe MSU has made much effort for Monticrief or Cheif Brown.

I feel confident in saying that MSU is the favorite for both PJ Jones and Singleton. I'm not going to say there is no chance Brassell ends up somewhere else. But, I'd much rather be MSU right now than OM.

If MSU signs PJ Jones, Singleton, Brassell, CJ Johnson, Arrington, Maiden, Morrow, Price, and Market, it will be a HUGE day for MSU football. That will constitute "MULLEN..TAKING..IT..TO..HOUSTON..NUTT..IN..HIGH..SCHOOL..RECRUITING..IN..2010"

his point is that this was year 3 of the Nutt, with Orgeron's players gone and Nutt's in you went 4-8. And yes the recruiting classes at OM have been better than States (if you are referring to stars). But that is misleading when so many of Nutt's recruits that are considered to be his best never make it to the field or he coaches them down to a 0 star athlete (see Masoli, Patterson, Snead, etc, etc). Just like this Stoudt kid...I laughed when I saw an OM fan talking about how much talent he "has" on a video where he was playing sub-par JUCO talent defenses and thought to myself, don't worry Nutt will have him to 1 star or no stars in time for the season!

y'all couldn't have won just 2 more games. Wow, if only there wasn't the JSU and Vandy losses, tsun could be playing in yet another post-NYD bowl: The Compass Bowl. My point?<div>Obviously the comments that somehow a bowl that is on NYD or after is so great. Think of another comment, maybe like "y'all finish 5th in the SEC West and you think you're awesome."</div>

Most would still consider the Cotton Bowl to be a "NYD" Bowl, regardless of the actual time it is played. I'm not sure anyone anywhere is claiming that the Birmingham Bowl = Cotton/Gator/etc.. Bowls...

Aren't we pretty pumped about playing in a NYD bowl game?

there is some hope he will play again, but it is not a certainty. Is a shame...he appeared to be a good one.

Not sure which Jones you are referring to but Delvin Jones is expected back and expected to be a good player. I don't believe we ever signed Willie Ferrell. Did we sign Houston? I know he committed but I was not sure we actually signed him.

Several of those were oversigns that were never going to make it here, but we have had some attrition from the 2009 class that hurts.

one cannot just say a "NYD bowl" equates a great bowl anymore. It doesn't matter when it's played. If it's a great bowl, it's a great bowl. The Peach Bowl is a great bowl. It's not on NYD. It's the same argument as bragging about 4*/5* recruits and thinking your team is great with them. We all know that is a fallacy.

bowls played on NYD. I would imagine most people think about the traditional NYD bowls when saying this (Orange, Sugar, Cotton, Gator, Rose, etc...)

The Cotton Bowl is the Cotton Bowl, regardless of when it is played, much as the Gator bow is the Gator bowl. NYD bowls are historically the prestigious games. The Cotton and Gator fall into this category. I see what you are saying, but I still have no idea why you are trying to make this point...

Regardless of how hilariously inept they were this year, they had good enough teams the past two years to play in and win a great bowl game, twice. There is nothing to belittle there...
