but I don't think they beat Bama or Auburn. Most of their SEC games are tossups at this point. Their QB looked like Wesley Carroll and Mike Henig tonight. I really thought they'd win 10 games this year. I see 8-4 as an awesome year for them at this point.

but it would take a stroke of sheer luck for Ole Miss to beat Bama. Snead lost something somewhere between last season and this one. He looked like garbage against Memphis for 3 quarters and like garbage all night tonight. I will grant that USC has a really good D, but Bama's is better. Also, I think Bama probably has a better offense than USC as well. Bama should win by 10+ even in Oxford. Tonight showed that Ole Miss' secondary and OL can be taken advantage of by the right off. coordinator and a team with a decent QB and decent to good recievers. They will lose at least 2 more games. 9-3 is a really good season, but it isn't a championship season.

Liberty Bowl still looks pretty awesome to me. Hell, Shreveport may as well be Las Vegas. Of course you would take him in a heartbeat, so would I

Well the good news for them is that if he has another game like tonight there's no way Snead gets first round hype and so they'll get another year out of him. From everything I've seen from him, the talent is there, but the consistency needs a lot of work.

Yea, and it got them to the SEC title game twice, and it got them a winning SEC record over a decade's time. Give me that freaking movie right now, and I'll laugh all the way to the bank.

It's called pass protection. When he has good protection, he's freaking lights out. When he's having to move his feet a bunch and he's watching the pass rush too much, he struggles.

Part of the reason he sucked so much against Vandy last year is because they were in our backfield most of the night. If we get the pass protection worked out, he'll look like old Snead. If we continue to have break downs, he'll have more nights like this one.

...RebelBruiser to the rescue, indeed.

Nutt's a good coach, but his legacy has been to underwhelm when there were high expectations. That's what I was referring to.

A reverse??!?!???
When a simple play action was all they needed. The way #22 was running, I just knew SC was going to get torched with a play action. Instead, we got some crazy *** slow developing reverse play against a defense that has been successful with pressure.

You're right about the guy's legacy, but it's a lot like Richt's legacy of not being able to get to a BCS title game, or Tommy Bowden's legacy of not being able to take Clemson to an ACC title. Only fickle, spoiled fans complain about stuff like that when they're still getting a good product. But of course by nature, college fans are fickle and spoiled.

I thought Oher was y'alls 3rd best lineman last year?? Sowell looked like dog **** tonight. Get over it. You backtrack over your comments like nothing I've ever seen. Sorry to take up to much of your time, I guess you should get back to not following recruiting.

I never said **** about Oher. I said we were going to likely have to help out Sowell this year by leaving in backs and TEs to help with protection while we often could leave Oher on an island by himself. Unfortunately, Brandon Bolden was probably worse than Sowell with his pass protection on the night. He failed miserably in his job of helping out on the left side.

You're getting me confused with another Ole Miss poster. I have always said OL was my biggest concern coming into the season, and that if we could patch that up, we'd have a great team. That has been a problem though, and it reared its ugly head last night.

Thus The Oxford Square is in meltdown.

When he was supposedly so good last year, he was still only throwing for 210 yards a game. Now I'd take that in our situation, but that by no means makes you an elite quarterback in this conference, much less a Heisman trophy contender.
