Northeast Guilford has a good team . I think West Stokes ,East Surry and Mt Airy lose this week. The teams will benefit from playing good competition
I have not heard the RPI mentioned this year. Are they still going to be using it ? All I see when I search NCHSAA RPI is MaxPreps rankings.

RPI's are used. Just FYI, conference finish has no meaning anymore. So conference champ doesn't matter nor does the old leapfrog rule. Seeded based on RPI only.

4.1.15 Playoff Ranking Formula - A Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) formula will be used for qualifications in all team bracketed playoffs with the exception of dual team wrestling. RPI = MaxPreps Formula (.4 x WP) + (.4 x OWP) + (.2x OOWP) MaxPreps RPI values are displayed to four (4) decimal places, in the event of a tie, additional decimal places will be displayed until the tie is broken. (a) There will be no point differential considered for playoff qualification and seeding purposes

This is gonna open up some problems when a team that finishes second behind a first place team is seeded higher even though they won. Lol!!

It is not looking good for the NW3A/4A this week. I am hoping for some upsets going their way with 4 wins, but it could be 4 losses. Winners***

Mount Airy @ Watauga***--- Pulling for an upset.

North Surry
***@ Patrick County

Northeast Guilford @ West Stokes***

Starmount***
@ Forbush--- Starmount wins

East Surry @ Murphy***--- Pulling for an upset.

West Wilkes***

I believe there was a thread on the old preps (I'm sure it moved but who knows which one it was under), where there were only a few teams that would have been bumped up. One being Starmount last year. They would have went from, if memory serves me correctly, 9th to like 5th or 6th in the seeding. I don't remember any instances where a conference champion would have not been seeded above everyone else in the conference. I think maybe a conference champ should get an auto bid, but I do like that they are not necessarily seeded higher than better teams.

Anyways, give me the following:
Watauga. Close game early with Watauga pulling away.
North Surry. Offense is going to have to show up.
NE Guilford. West Stokes puts up a fight, just think NEG is better.
Starmount. Starmount by whatever they want.
Murphy. I think this will be a lot closer than most think, but give the edge to Murphy with it being at home.
West Wilkes. West Wilkes by a lot.

I agree with those picks

From what i am seeing this conference is lot weaker than I thought it would be. West Stokes offense has long way to go to be average

It’ll be interesting to see once conference starts how the “cupcake” non-conference schedule teams fair against those that faced a much harder non-conference schedule.
