Press conference later today

Maybe he's just calling a press conference so he finally gets a chance to speak. That last debate was pretty harsh on him re. getting a chance to talk.

You know with everyone one that drops out the rest are going "Yes!!!"

Does that bump one of the second tier debaters up to the first tier debate or not? It would get kinda embarrassing if they kept doing that and ended up with 11 in the top tier debate and 2 in the second tier debate.

I think him and Cruz are the two....how shall I put this politely?.....biggest idiots in the GOP field.

Lol. The Dem party with Clinton, Sanders and possibly Biden and you're calling these two idiots? Cruz is the most intelligent of all the candidates in both parties. You may not like his ideology, but there is no denying his intelligence.

He hasn't really made the most of his opportunities in the debates, at least in my opinion. He's come off pretty flat when he has spoken, IMHO. It's unfortunate, because he seemed like he might gather some momentum. I just haven't seen or heard a lot of substance from him. Maybe that's on me, not on him. He's missed chances to inject himself into debate topics - Christie seized a chance to take a shot at Trump and Fiorina for arguing about their respective business credentials, Kasich has done similar things to talk about working across the aisle and cutting deficits. I think they come across as more politically astute than Walker.

Here's my opinion on the race for the GOP nomination. I think Trump has pretty much maxed out his support. As the field dwindles, those candidates' support will go to someone other than Trump. I see that as a positive.

I think and hope you're right about Trump's support being maxed out.

Walker's biggest problem is that he's boring. Very flat.

I think you're right. We are a celebrity driven culture and are a lesser nation for it. Lincoln could never be elected today. A tall, gangly and pretty ugly man wouldn't stand a chance.

Cruz was debate champion at Princeton and Harvard Law. Anybody who gets into Harvard Law is not stupid. People with big connections might be able to get a child in but I doubt if Ted Cruz had any connections at all. He's the one guy who I wouldn't want to debate. He shot down Diane Fienstein in a meeting and it took her 24 hrs to come back with a response. He's good and you'll see it when the field dwindles.

Felito is so intelligent he read Green Eggs and Ham during a filibuster of the ACA, LMAO. He's so intelligent, many of his Republican counterparts tried to advise him against shutting down the government two years ago and he wouldn't listen and look at the black eye the entire party got for it. He might be book smart, but he lacks common sense. He allows his ideals to control his actions rather than his intellect. Deep down, i'm sure he is intelligent enough to know he's on the wrong side of the argument but argues his ideals regardless. He clearly contorts the First Amendment of the Constitution to try to make it say what he wants it to say.

Pataki, Santorum, Graham seem likely. They are going nowhere fast.
Santorum had a late inning rally last time, and he is probably looking through rose colored glasses. Doubt Lindsey is going anywhere since he is favorite son in the third state to vote. He will not carry his state, IMO.

Do you really put that much faith in Harvard? Remember the President was editor of Harvard Law Review. That and experience as a community organizer were the only two things that proponents had to offer in 2008 as Obama strengths.

Your ignorance is pretty astounding. Do you know what a filibuster is? One Senator once read from a phone book. To sustain a filibuster, you stay in chamber and talk. Secondly, Cruz has been incredibly savvy. He has focused on establishing himself as an outsider and anti Establishment. Both are in high demand on the campaign trail and those candidates lead in the polls. Cruz is off the charts brilliant.

I know exactly what a filibuster is...and I wouldn't read Green Eggs and Ham if I were trying to shoot something down. That's idiotic.
Felito just hired Michele Fiore as an advisor. Michele Fiore is the woman that thinks cancer is a fungus and can be treated by flushing your body with salt water and baking soda. LMAO!

With Walker on his way out, who will be the next one to drop out?
I wouldn't be surprised to see a major thinning of the herd now...say 4-5 casualties in the coming weeks. There are a bunch hovering at low single digits that have zero chance at this point.

You clearly don't know the mechanics of a filibuster. His children were watching on C-Span and he read them their favorite bedtime story. A filibuster doesn't require that they only speak about the bill in question. As I posted, one Senator read from a phone book.

I know they read from phone books. The Congressional rules require that they read or talk about something non-stop. It doesn't matter what it is. If I'm trying to make a point (we don't want something), I don't read from a book that the point it is driving home, try it you might like it. You are just as idiotic as Cruz. I totally understand now.

Good selection by Felito on Michele Fiore. She also supported Cliven Bundy.

I amazed at these two very "shallow" libs claiming that Cruz is unintelligent. It shows that hatred clouds judgment. I don't like Obama in the least and believe he is easily one of our worst Presidents, but I acknowledge that he is intelligent. On the other hand, I actually like Biden as a person, but I know he's very low on the IQ scale.

Cruz knew early on this would be an "outsider" election and he has done all that he can to position himself as the anti-establishment guy. Seems pretty smart to me.

Because he's posted it 3 or 4 times in this thread?

Are you saying Ted Cruz read it because his kids wanted him to?
Should a presidential candidate being taking political advice from kids young enough to request Green Eggs and Ham?

Earth to WhiteTail.. come in WhiteTail. This was a filibuster. Read/Talk about anything. Kids like their favorite bedtime story, you read their favorite bedtime story to them during filibuster. Not that it matters, he wasn't a presidential candidate at that time.

An explanation for the low information crowd:

The longest filibusters in American political history can be measured in hours, not minutes. They were conducted on the floor of the U.S. Senate during charged debates on civil rights, public debt and the military.

In a filibuster, a senator may continue to speak indefinitely to prevent a final vote on the bill. Some read the phone book, cite recipes for fried oysters, or read the Declaration of Independence.

WTF is wrong with you? Do you have reading comprehension issues? I just explained to you what a filibuster was and then you feel the need to call me "low information" and then try to explain to me what a filibuster is. LMAO. Go help your mom clean house.

The filibuster in the first place shows a lack of leadership, unbecoming a presidential candidate. It's the equivalent of a kid sticking his fingers in his ears and saying nah nah nah nah nah I can't hear you nah nah nah nah nah

You and Whitetail are clearly low information if you're claiming that Cruz lacks intelligence because he read Green Eggs and Ham. That's a patently ridiculous assertion not backed up by fact. You obviously don't know that a filibuster requires talking and there is no limitation on the subject.
