Tucker is going to be paid an enormous sum...way more than I think he is worth.Who are we thinking that the Yanks will pursue in the Free Agent market this offseason?
Bregman
Bichette
Tucker
Schwarber
Of these guys I think Bregman is a clear need and a perfect addition. I would also resign Bellinger if possible.
I'm not high on Bichette. I say roll with Volpe and bring Lombard along slowly.Tucker is going to be paid an enormous sum...way more than I think he is worth.
Schwarber just keeps rolling along pounding the ball but he's getting really close to the age of regression and he is a one trick pony....although that one trick is pretty damn good.
If the Yanks are going to trade Jazz....I would sign Bichette in a heartbeat. He's just the type of hitter this lineup needs that just flat out puts the ball in play.
Bregman....man I hate Bregman. The antics **** he used to pull when he was with the Astros. One of the best things I ever saw was the WS against the Nationals.....Bregman hits that late homer and does the BS where he carried the bat to first base to hand it off to the first base coach like he is nothing more than a valet....and then Soto comes up right after to hit a go-ahead homer and does the very same thing mocking Bregman. I loved that. Bregman called down the wrath of the baseball Gods with that crap and Soto delivered the punishment. But he is a damn good ball player and yes, he would solve the 3B dilemma and provide a monster bat while doing so. If he puts on pinstripes, I know I will love him but I just don't like the guy.
I would play Bichette at 2nd....he's played there beforeI'm not high on Bichette. I say roll with Volpe and bring Lombard along slowly.
There have been rumors Jazz will get dealt if the Yankees sign Bichette and move Volpe to 2nd base. We'll see how it plays out. I'm more concerned with our pitching.
Less than zero chance Trent is in the Bronx next year except as an opposing player UNLESS his market falls apart and he gets brought back on a 1 year dealIf we can resign Bellinger I think Bregman is the last piece of the puzzle. Keep Jazz but I’d let Trent go because I think he will be trying to hard to be a home-run hitter. I’d move Bellinger to center, Judge in right and Dominguez in left and I’d make Rice the everyday 1st baseman. Shore up the pen and look for a place to put # 28 in the trophy case.
Do you mean beyond a qualifying offer for compensation? He's not taking the qualifying offerYankees are making Grisham an offer. We'll see that that goes.
They've offered him a 1 year deal in private. Don't remember the terms but it seems like 26 mil and possibly 2 years. He wants 3 years. You probably will not see anything public on this unless it happens.Do you mean beyond a qualifying offer for compensation? He's not taking the qualifying offer
It will be a travesty. Voters like to vote for the new guy. How the **** can you ignore what Judge did? Cal pales in comparison. Just because he is a catcher yada yada yada. Well, Judge is 6'7" 300 pounds. Not a good size for a ball player to do what he does. He;s a generational phenom. Cal is not.Get ready for Judge to be scrood out of the MVP later today.
I honestly think this is a driving force behind some of the outrage. The probability that Raleigh does anything like this again is minuscule. He’s a catcher…and that is really tough to continue to do and produce at an elite level offensively. This was his 4th full season…and he never hit more than 34 HRs before this year. He’d also never hit above .232 until this season (in which he only hit .247). There’s just nothing that suggests this season was a sign of things to come. It feels more like Yelich in 18/19 or Belly in 19 or even Anderson in 96 (we know what happened there).Raleigh is not even close to Judge. I'll be surprised if he even hits 40 HRs next year.
Brady Anderson 1996....LOL. Skinny centerfielder. Dude shows up to spring training 30 pounds heavier (all muscle) than when the season ended 3 months earlier.I honestly think this is a driving force behind some of the outrage. Judge may have the exact same season next year. And he’d deserve another MVP. I think there is a sentiment out there that Raleigh never will show this form again. So this was an all-or-nothing MVP campaign for him.
I'm glad that Judge won because I’m a big supporter of metrics and because I feel like he was already robbed of an MVP back in 17.
Kirby Puckett did the same. Eventually those roids killed him at an early age. He even went blind. So sad.Brady Anderson 1996....LOL. Skinny centerfielder. Dude shows up to spring training 30 pounds heavier (all muscle) than when the season ended 3 months earlier.
Proceeds to go off on a homer binge.
Gee whiz, he must have put in a ton of effort in the weight room to gain 30 lbs of muscle in 3 months, LOL.
And for only 2.5 million it's a bargain.Yanks and Yarborough agree on a 1-year deal for him to come back in that long relief / emergency starter / old vet in the pen role
Don’t mind this at all. You need ONE of these guys on your team
I think you are referring to Michael King and yes, there are rumors that the Yanks will make an offer. But King is also expected to have many pursuers so we'll see where it goesWill the Yanks pursue Michael Young, who despite their efforts had to be included in the Soto trade?
Yes, Michael King, lol. I actually know a Michael Young.I think you are referring to Michael King and yes, there are rumors that the Yanks will make an offer. But King is also expected to have many pursuers so we'll see where it goes
I have to disagree. He righted himself after the All-star break and leaves a big hole IMO. Who have we got besides Bednar? The pen is a big problem.Good riddance.
I have to agree. Early in the year Williams was a mess but the second half he was pretty solid. He was a pretty key part of the 7-8-9 pen setup.I have to disagree. He righted himself after the All-star break and leaves a big hole IMO. Who have we got besides Bednar? The pen is a big problem.
