Totally agree about Bellinger. Plays great defense and is a perfect hitter for Yankee Stadium

Cashman gives Boone all these good pitchers and Boone sticks one of his sorry guys in there

I don’t mind Loasiga in the 5th. Got to get him figured out. That arm is too good to be struggling like he is

I said on the old thread that I am happy with the trade deadline moves. The new arms in the bullpen gives the Yanks what should be effectively 7 inning games and finally an arm or two you can bring in to those situations where you HAVE to have a strikeout

And McMahon brings a helluva glove to the infield. Anything he provides at the plate… and he has been a decent bat in the past with very good power…is a bonus

Rosario and especially Caballero give you great speed and great gloves on the bench along with some positional versatility

the Yanks should definitely be improved. Significantly

And yes, Bellinger needs to stay in the Bronx. Such a good all-around player

Dominguez has taken a big leap this year. Remember, he’s still ONLY 22.

Hell, Stanton is batting .280 and still hasn’t gone on one of his scorching hot streaks (although it’s looking like he is starting one of those).
Solidify the pen. Check
Improve the D. Check
Get Gil back. And get Judge back. This team can go on a roll

What a total crap fest. I would have given the new players another day to acclimate themselves to the team. Traveling over night, leaving family behind, etc. Like I said yesterday Rodon has got to start limiting his pitches. And these additions to the pen. I knew nothing about them as I no longer at my age follow anyone but the Yankees, but they looked worse than what we had. All I heard was Doval had a blistering fastball. Never saw it. I did see a steady diet of breaking pitches and change ups which is the Yankees M.O. smh Bednar has a career ERA over 7.00 in Miami yet clueless Boone trots him out there. Many questionable managing moves last night I won't get into.

All four players acquired ahead of Thursday’s Trade Deadline had a hand in one of the most staggering losses of the season. Jake Bird allowed a grand slam, David Bednar coughed up a lead, Camilo Doval blew a save and José Caballero committed a costly error as the Yankees were walked off by the Marlins, 13-12, on Friday evening at loan Depot park.

All this after the Yankees knew the Jays had lost earlier and they could make up a game.

Like I've been saying. Boone has got to go. He's killing this team with his bone headed decisions especially his handling of the pitching staff.

Hey, lakelaw, am I going to have to move all my posts from our old thread to here? lmao

This board is just as slow as the the other one. Maybe one day high speed internet will be available in my area of the boondocks.

I'm seriously thinking of retiring from message boards anyway.

You’re not allowed to retire from message boards yet. We all need to see a 2for “we won the World Series!” post before you can do that
Or at least a “we finally fired Boonie” post from you

Hello Yankee fans. Maybe I’ll post over here occasionally as well as on the 247 site.

What a brutal few days for the Yanks in south Florida. Red Sox have now jumped ahead of the Yankees in AL East/Wild Card. Big spot for Gil tomorrow in his season debut.

On a side note, are we expecting Judge back, at least in a DH role, for the Astros series next weekend?

Yankees are trash. Wouldn’t surprise me if they miss the playoffs. Tell tale sign for me was the two Sox series earlier this year.

Well, lakelaw, we'll see how it goes over the next few weeks. Glad I skipped yesterdays; game. I see I didn't miss anything.

Boone must be feeling some heat....he lost it on the first base coach after Jazz' bonehead base running error yesterday.

I don’t see how Boone could blame the first base coach for this, but he’ll do anything but blame the players.

Wish I had skipped today. The Yankees are pathetic. Pregame Boone was asked about the lack of accountability of the players and he hemmed and hawed and never gave a definite answer. He just needs to go. Hal needs to wake the hell up and get us a real manager. I swear every time Boone pulls the starter the reliever he brings in gives up runs whether inherited runners or their own. And the 2 pinch hitting decisions he made today were awful.

Wild stat. Miami is the only MLB team with a winning record against the Yankees. They are 25-24.

Jays lost again. Bosox moved yet another game ahead of us and several other teams are now on our butts. And Boone says there is plenty of time to right the ship. OK. You have a losing record over the past 2 months. About time to right the ship like RIGHT NOW. Yankees fans are sick of this ****!

Embarrassing. Absolutely embarrassing

I didn’t see it yesterday but the questions pre-game were in response to Jeter and A-Rod criticizing the Yanks and indirectly Boonie on the Fox pre-game yesterday

Jeter was critical of all of the mistakes and A-Rod CORRECTLY followed up that there is “no accountability” with the Yanks right now. That’s the Manager’s job

The post game comments are unsettling to me regardless of who is making them and shows no sense of urgency from the players or coaches.

“It’s getting late – it’s certainly not too late for us,” Boone said. “I’m confident that we are going to get it together. But it’s empty until we start doing it.” Boone referred to this as “gut check time.” “I think we have the makings of a very good club,” Boone said, “but obviously we haven’t shown it consistently enough.” Boone referred to this as “gut check time.” Though the lineup could get a boost if Aaron Judge returns from the injured list on Tuesday at Texas, what the manager described as a stretch of “mediocre” play has gone on for months, not weeks.

“I think everyone in this room, we have really high expectations, and we’re not meeting them right now,” said Cody Bellinger. “I still really do have full confidence in this group of guys; love this group of guys. I think we have a lot of talented baseball players in here. Ultimately, we’ve just got to play better.”

“I wouldn’t say there’s concern, but I think a little sense of urgency would be good for us,” said Ben Rice, who later clarified he doesn’t believe urgency is lacking. “As we continue to move deeper into the season here in this playoff race, we’re going to have to pick it up eventually.”
