I'm hearing rumors that the NYT has tracked down who the leakers and/or unmaskers were in the Flynn surveillance. Supposedly the story includes names that will be dropped, and the unmasking story involves members of the Obama Administration.

Stay tuned.

Yes well apparently the names they have and are about to drop are very real. Let's see what they've come up with. Sources come from inside the Justice department upset with the politicization of their career work.

The sources are not the story Coop. It's who the leakers or illegal unmaskers of Flynn were?

Remember, the FBI is investigating...they know principles involved that others don't. I think it's more about cleaning up the corruption and illegal sureveillance than trying to smear someone with anonymous sources.

Well if there's nothing to it, then there's nothing to it. Wouldn't be the first time that paper has reported something that wasn't true.

We'll see.

We do know Flynn's name was illegally "unmasked"...we don't know yet by whom or why? Fake unnamed sources or not, someone is behind both the leaking and the apparent illegal unmasking of Flynn's name.

Maybe we'll find out both?

Guy: I have information that you are cheating on me.
Wife: How do you know this?
Guy: My friend saw you kissing someone. So I hired a PI to find out for sure.
Wife: Your friend should keep his mouth shut. He shouldn't be spying on me. That's the real issue here. You don't trust me. Your hired a PI? How dare you! Nevermind that I'm banging someone else.

Wife: yea, I'm a regional sales manager, it's kind of part of the job.

Well, at least according to this report by Eli Lake...Susan Rice may have been the one who ultimately "unmasked" Flynn and others in the Trump organization. who were caught up in surveillance, by requesting their names while the intelligence gathering was underway! She was Obama's chief National security advisor. Why was she involved in this?

https://www.bloomberg.com/view/arti...ser-sought-names-of-trump-associates-in-intel

pull quote from article:

"Indeed, much about this is highly unusual: if not how the surveillance was collected, then certainly how and why it was disseminated"

Susan Rice caught red handed.

Well the article doesn't say what she requested was illegal since there was an active investigation, but it is unusual why she requested information on Trump campaign operatives who ostensibily were not part of the investigation of foreign activity that was under surveillance.

This is unusual she would request those particular names, when it was the Russians we were investigating. Since she asked for and got the names involved, how is it that those same names were ultimately "leaked" to the Media when they should have remained masked if nothing else because they were incidental to the foreign surveillance?

Apparently she made the requests for those names a primary target of the surveillance, which was not specified in the FISA warrants isued to collect the data!

She has some explaining to do.

She would have to demonstrate national security issues to unmask these names. If there was no national security interest, she is in deep, deep trouble. I believe each unmasking is subject to at least 5 years in prison (I could be wrong that each one is subject to that penalty. It could be the simple act of unmasking all of them would comprise that kind of penalty).

I think you are correct Pax. She at least has to explain why those specific names were requested, and then who else was given access to them since they ultimately were leaked once unmasked?

There are multiple felonies possibly violated here if she can't explain what the National security risk was for her to ask for those names.

She is in deep deep do do!

U have said repeatedly that the NYT is fake and a basically liberal rag. Why the change?

I didn't say they weren't. They're not suddenly this bastion of enterprising Journalism. They actually sat on this story and got scooped by Bloomberg. I had just heard the rumors they were going to break the story, turns out those were wrong.

I still think they're essentially bird cage liner, or a good fish wrap. All the news fit to misprint.
