You have the right to your opinion but this thread belongs on the OT board and not on the sports page and if this matter is more important in life as you state then maybe you should find a more serious forum then a sports message board. my advice to you is when your not watching wvu sports you should stop watching the false prophets of cable news channels.

PS beware of Furniture

The newest "sport" is coming to you. How do you wish to engage it?

Are you the ostrich of this topic?

Well I know there are bigger threats than terrorists and don't I believe you for one minute about your story in Atlanta. You have have a better chance of being killed by a drunk driver or from heart disease from sucking down grease ball burgers than you do from getting shot by someone who lives in a mud hut half way around the world. I suggest you lay off the wild turkey

Ask the 14 Americans killed in California by a pair of terrorists if ISIS and its threat to us is nonsense.

what terrorist group did the Virginia tech shooter who killed 32 people belong too? or the 12 people killed at columbine? What terrorist group do drunk drivers belong too?

I doubt this ever happened.

And you start a thread basically calling all muslims dangerous and a threat to Americans and say you aren't trying to stir up people on here? Do you assume everyone that posts here is a straight, white, christian male?

Where did I say "all Muslims"? Wow, how someone can contort a linked post that was news. I have neighbors who are Muslims and they are appalled, I think

Well, I'm not a conspirator theorist person, but I do think the IRS has made a mistake or two. I'm neither religious or a "nut case", but if you think we are safe from the onslaught of lacks immigration and other issues... well, heaven help us. If you are tucked away in the woods of WV, you may be the last to feel the pain.

It's a wonder that the people of the Middle East grow up hating the western world. We just routinely kill civilians over there, entered the region under sketchy at best circumstances, arrested and assassinated a head of state and left the country of Iraq completely destabilized.

Imagine some country gets attacked by an extremist Canadian. That country goes into Canada to fight "terrorism". That country then decides to turn its eyes on the USA, kills our head of state, carpet bombs the **** out of our cities and leaves nothing but extremists behind to fight for the power in our country. That is basically what happened to Iraq, and we really sit here and wonder why the sand people will literally strap a bomb to their chest and blow it up in a crowd of people.

There is no easy answer to what is happening over there. The people that would seize power if we took out ISIS is likely just going to be an even trade of extremist Muslims. We cannot just kill off all the extremist jihadis, their idealism is spread out across an entire continent and their numbers are growing rapidly, the loss of life on our end would be huge trying to win on the ground. Arming rebels to fight them just further arms ISIS should the group we back fail.

Blame both the Bush and Obama administrations, both have made colossal mistakes that have led to what is currently going on over there.

I have to laugh. I've been shot at twice and hit once. I grew up with guns but mostly a long gun and a shot gun... only used for deer and birds. I now have a concealed carry permit which protects me, to a degree, from ******** like you... not that you, personally, are a threat... rather you create an environment that allows it. I only recently got the permits since I was out-gunned in every other scenario. I boxed in college and have a black belt in karate. Always felt pretty well equipped to deal with most situations. The tide has shifted, I'm sorry to say. The bad guys don't want to duke it out anymore. Who is the *****... ***** boots?

Whatever happens, you should be prepared for it. I choose to be... and I'm as normal as you can get, I think. You can choose to disagree. I'm not one to go down without a fight.

Yeah - I've seen you in action.

As far as the notion of "preparing" yourself, what can you really do? There is nothing we can do to stop someone with a proper passport from entering the US legally that shares the ISIS ideology, or from entering through Mexico or Canada and building something here with homemade weapons and attacking the US. The Boston Marathon bomber could not be stopped barring shutting down our borders and implementing Martial Law 24/7, is that a world that is preferable to living free but a chance at a terror strike every 5-10 years, where even if you are in the city it happens in, there is still a better chance of you or a loved one dying on your daily commute than in a terror strike?

Blame our leaders for putting us in a position where we are a target for extremism, trust homeland security, the military, the CIA, and the FBI to sniff out any attacks on our soil, but I am not going to drastically change my life and look over my shoulder for the 1 in a billion shot of someone trying to attack the US within my immediate reach.

Your environment allows you to carry a firearm despite the fact you're obviously not mentally competent to do so and permits you to visit a privately owned message board to spread your politics, even though other members of the community requested you do not.

Seems to me you're getting the better end of this deal, but that's jmo.

Everything else in your post just sounds gay and I'm going to make fun of you forever for it.

My OP was not about "spreading politics". It was a link to an article depicting what un-tethered immigration has done to some European countries. It is happening here! I didn't add any editorial commentary.

As for the "gay" comment... look in the mirror. k

As far as mental competency... I think I'm much further along than you will ever be.

Politics and religious discussion is inappropriate in many environments, this one included.

Much different than standard OT posts such as....Does anyone have a good recipe for ribs, or whatever.

How is a "rib" recipe any more relevant? My concern is for all of our safety and major sports venues are clear targets. WVU is not an exception for this and, in fact, may be a reasonably "soft target" if we don't increase our awareness and preparedness.

I guess, but I think many people come here to spend some time on something they enjoy, and when people creep in with unpleasant topics, it's an annoyance and it's not necessary. There are endless places on the internet to discuss politics, and there's already a board in this forum devoted for it.

There's only a couple places on the internet to discuss WVU and WVU sports.

Your self-control doesn't seem all that strong either. You could ignore their comments as well, so you're in the same boat.

I don't mind OT topics, but mind your etiquette.
So says a real *** hole when it comes to showing one iota of respect for fellow mountaineers. This idiot offers himself as the real critique of WVU. Very intelligent - just ask him and he will spend a lifetime talking about himself. Piss on him.

When someone yells out at you..."Ala Akbar" in passing on an Atlanta street as I have encountered, you begin to realize the problem is coming to you (us). Sorry if I offended anyone, but if you believe you will be safe at Mountaineer Field or the Coliseum by sticking your heads in the sand, then have at it. I thought my post was merely a barometer of what's already happening and we better be ready for it. Have a safe day!

Well I'll be damned. The Mooslims are gunna invade that thar Coliseum and Mowntaneer Feeld. Somebody get me uh depends, I might jus piss meself outa fear.

How did that Y2K thing work out for you?

Dont know why this thread is on this board but since its here I will have a go...........

Blaise Pascal and his wager is what most people live by but would never admit to it.

Religion in all its trappings has caused more deaths than all diseases combined.

Nice reference to Blaise - hadn't heard that name since Sister Timothy Marie laid it on us in 6th grade. Have to agree with you on that. Everyone else, google is a wonderful thing, if you are interested
