1. I like ULM's park. Their lounge is down the left field line though and you have to pay attention constantly or you could get mashed by a line drive.

2. Got to shake hands with Cohen before the game. I like the way he took a couple of minutes to greet visiting fans before the game started. Very good PR move in year 1 while in transition.

3. Forrest Moore has weekend stuff. He should be getting SEC hitters out with what he has. Ironically, My team was trying like hell to get to Moore when we played them and he was a Soph. We just couldnt chase their starter who was getting it up there at 90+. Moore warmed up in the pen the last 3 innings, if we could have gotten to him, we would have won it. Parkview had some dominant pitching during their 5 state titles run.

4. I hear Bowen is now seeing a shrink. Good luck with that

5. Anybody talking about Cohen not doing a good job is a moron. We just simply arent very good. We dont even look talented. I say keep a couple of pitchers and chunk the rest. Hitters are taking called 3rd strikes on FASTBALLS. Thats not coaching- thats lack of talent. If your not up there to be aggressive and prepared to hit a fastball with two strikes, you just arent very good.

6. ULM's pitcher has beaten the Nasty Bunch and now us midweek- he cant even pitch on the weekend- thats how bad we are.

7. On the bunts- 1st one was a great bunt and the pitcher slipped down when changing direction to field it. bad luck. The 2nd one- our 2nd baseman knew the coverage, he just didnt get his *** over to first in time. He's got to know where he needs to play in order to get to the bag in time- no excuse for that- common sense baseball.

8. Hogue got picked off after trying to steal 3rd the previous pitch. How in the hell can you not figure they might try a pick? No wonder Cohen vents to the newspaper. I'd be wanting to strangle some of them. There is only so much coaching can do.

9. I liked our black jerseys, but we need to go black with the leggings too when we wear them

10. Polk should have his *** whipped for the state of our program. Wow. LT needs a dose of it too for bringing him back.

we might get in, but damn...If we do make it, Cohen and staff deserve a week at the beach with an Asian hooker for pulling it off....

Bowen and Moore not living up to their potential is really hurting us on the mound...you are talking about two quality arms that could be eating up some crucial innings on the weekends and keep us in games. Good pitching overcomes alot of talent deficiencies. The talent is there. The coaches have to fix the guys- but in the end its up to them to put it together. The coaches cant throw it for them.

just because we knew we weren't building a damn thing last year, we were just regressing into a sad state entirely. This year we know something is being built, a foundation being laid. You're either going backwards or forwards. We're going forward now.

"Bowen and Moore not living up to their potential is really hurting us on the mound"

Moore is throwing better than anyone. He started the sunday game against Georgia and pitched really well.

Moore should be our number 2 starter with the arm he has. He didnt even pitch against UPig- he should be throwing well enough that Routt should be our Sunday starter. Or even better, Moore on Friday, Bowen on Saturday, and Routt on Sunday to go left, right, left....

Moore is better than being a midweek starter

and you clearly said he's not living up to potential. His performance and his stats say otherwise. Just because Cohen is putting him in non-Fri/Sat spots, doesn't mean he's not living up to his potential.

He was a weekend guy against Georgia. I think he got left out at Arkansas b/c of the way the games went. He is getting bullpen duty and midweek duty b/c we only have 3 pitchers. Cohen was trying to save him when we needed him out of the pen at Ark. The Friday game got out of hand quickly. It was pretty clear down 5-1 in game 2 that there was no need to bring him in. And the Sunday game got out of hand.

Bottom line is we are really having to pick our spots with him b/c we can't put anyone else in the game. I think last night's game illustrated all of that.

about our other pitchers, my point is that somebody throwing 90 from the left side should be viewed as someone that needs to be going 7 strong innings every SEC weekend no matter what. And Bowen was more of an illustration of my point. Moore shut down ULM, who can hit the ball very well, and looked good doing it. The fact that we are scared to put Bowen on the mound pisses me off to no end. I would probably keep sending him out there to get his brains beat out every Tuesday or Wednesday- he would either get better or get embarrassed.</p>

I think Cohen was going to do that until the Southern Miss game when Bowen just exploded.

But at this point, its worth risk that he'll get it back together. It can't get any worse as far as midweek guys.

Coach 34, you must not be watching the same Forrest Moore that I have seen, your potential is wrapped up in your
CONDOM. .

Three of his four starts, South Alabama, Georgia, and ULM offense has scored one run each game, he has a ERA of 2.60, he was pulled to early at Hawaii, with the lead and pitching well.

He is ranked in the Top 10 of SEC, in K's, hits given up, runs scored against, earned runs, k's per inning.

As a reliever, he has closed the door on Northern Illinois and South Carolina ( 7 K ), Coach 34 am I missing something here?

Forrest is starting mid-week games, relief and starting on the weekends with little rest, Potential, you gotta be kidding, give him some rest and his numbers would be better than they are.

See you at the BallPark

before last night, he had thrown 21 2/3 innings and given up 7 ER's...also averaging 4 BB's per 9 innings...those arent bad numbers at all...but in 3 SEC series, he has only thrown 8 innings....

My point was that somebody with the type of stuff that he has, should have logged 21 SEC innings by now...He could be our #1 before it's over, and I hope he is...lots of potential there...

and Bowen should "have" benn #1 with Routt our #3. Funny how you never know about pitchers, kinda like kickers and punters, what they do one year doesn't mean it will be good the next. Makes me ill to think about "what if".

Good observation 34, you know more about baseball, but man do you need some lessons on "coaching basketball 101". Btw, I'm a huge Msu baseball fan, I remember the first so called LFL against OM, everyone pulled up in there vehicles up against the fence and partied like it the song Prince made so famous! Oh, a rout almost came to blows that night, OM had a helluva team, a few OM football players were in the "lounge to be" that night, and I really thought we were gonna see a hearse drive up and take some bodies away in red, white and blue colors. Man those were the days, red ripple with a case of beer and like Paul Harvey use to say "and now you know the rest of the story, good day".

is going to work for Bowen or not, but I am happy that we are at least trying to do things to help our players.

I beleive John Smoltz saw a psychologist early in his career after he was struggilng when he first came up to the big leagues, so it has worked before.
