Observations from the game

Here are my observations from the game that I had while at the game that I am guessing probably wasn't shown on TV.

1) Turner was the leader of the team. During one of the long timeouts, he was the player getting everyone pumped in the huddle. Stansbury sat back and let him do his thing during almost the complete timeout. He was our MVP yesterday

2) Stansbury was pissed at the call with 9 seconds left where Dee was pushed out of bounds. He turned around and started hitting the scoreers table.

3) As tired as JV probably looked on TV, I think he looked even more tired in person.

4) Dan Mullen was in attendance. He gave Stans a big hug when he saw him. Dan also likes drinking Diet Pepsi for anyone that cares.

5) State probably had about 2000 people there, UT 4,000, and the rest were from other teams. It seemed like quite a few Kentucky fans were cheering for UT, which surprised me.

6) A few of the players stayed around and gave autographs for a while. Specifically, Stewart, Bost, and Brian Johnson.

7) Stewart had a good laugh when my wife asked him to sign her ticket with "Randy".

pissed at the 3rd foul called on Varnado when Chism pushed him from the free throw line all the way out of bounds early in the second half. The announcers couldn't believe that call either and it was probably the worst call made in the game among a lot of other bad ones. My other 2 next worst calls after that both involved TN fouls, one being the foul that WAS called on TN when they didn't even touch Stewart and the other was the foul that WASN'T called on TN when they shoved Bost right out of bounds (as you mentioned) and both incidents happened in the final minute.

Was that the "trip" where Stewart fell down on the way to the basket? I had a bad angle to see it so I couldn't really tell, but I was surprised we got the call.

I pegged the crowd at 7k UT, 2k State, and 1k Kentucky fans. Also, when Barry threw the ball up after the final buzzer, it landed on the time keeper's head. Absolutley poetic.

Tyler Smith but he appeared to make no actual contact with Stewart. Anyway, Stewart hit one of two free throws on it to put us up 62-60.

I mean Barry, doesn't show any emotion during the game. I noticed it last year. Even after a big play, he just turns and walks away. That's one cool cat.

He was fired up after the 5-count on UT. Then he ran down the court pumping his fist when the first call was a travel on Prince in the final seconds. That's another bad call. It sure looked like he walked before the contact to me. I think Verne and Bill agreed.
