-did you know that today was Northwestern's first bowl win since the 1949 Rose Bowl?

-Tyler Russell's meltdown today could be attributed either:
a. Channelling his "Inner Henig"
b. Found some of Marcus Bullard's stash around the Athletic complex
c. Plans on coming out early for the NFL draft, and figured that he could impress Jerry Jones with his Romo-like performance.
d. Was excited at the prospect that Northwestern could win their first Bowl game since the 1949 Rose Bowl

- This team plays with no fire whatsoever. In 2009-2010, they were tough, well-coached, and flying all over the place. They might lose, but only to teams with vastly superior talent. In 2011-2012, they're just going through the motions. It seems this happens at Mississippi State all the time- the older players know they better produce or they're gone, while the new players (who're recruited by the present coaches) can get away with a lack of preparation and caring. The minute they get smacked in the mouth, they crawl into the corner and cry.

-I found out today that this was Northwestern's bowl win since the 1949 Rose Bowl.

- If we could dominate a Traditional National power like Michigan, play an exciting offense, score 52 points in a New Year's Day bowl game and still lose our three top recruits in 2011, look for our entire recruiting class to de-commit en masse' after that abortion today.

- Smart fast players beat dumb fast players every time. Northwestern players are studying pre-law and pre-med, while we keep holding prayer vigils for our recruits to score an 18 on their ACT.

- Interesting fact I heard from the announcers- today's bowl win was Northwestern's first since the 1949 Rose Bowl.

The minute they get smacked in the mouth, they crawl into the corner and cry.

That's after they run that same mouth in the damn media hurling insults and "holier than thou" comments at our opponents (Lookin' at you, Cory Broomfield). No one feels a bit sorry for us after that.

Broomfield shouldn`t bare any more responsibility than the big mouthed architect of this house of cards program.....Dan Mullen

Speaking of house of Cards.....2* 5-9 Broomfield was delt to Mullen by Crooms..... As was the human interception machine. But in the end I agree. Broomfield can't help it that Crooms out recruited Iowa State & Georgia Southern.

I learned that, according to Dale Earnhardt, Jr., the Taxalsayer.com mascot looks ridiculous dressed in an orange "Taxslayer.com" shirt as well as in a modified referee's shirt. God, did I learn it. Over and 17ing over.

Also, I learned that Tyler Russell's jersey # is appropriate because that's what I said ever time he threw the ball.

You'd think that a "reputable" company like Taxslayer could get a better spokesman ... at least one that spoke English. And I agree and thought the same about his jersey number ....
