OC called a good game

I thought Dana H called a good game and the plays were there for RB’s and short passes (scheme). The passing game to WR’s downfield was a bit underwhelming. Too many drops and very little separation.

Things didn’t start to open up until DH started running it down hill on consecutive plays. For an OL who struggles in pass protection that will be key going forward.

He adjusted. He stuck with the run early and was glad he didn't go pass happy on 1st and goal. He tried to get cute at one time then went back to the run. He wants to throw first and it's gotta be killing him inside but I also think he has improved

The challenges of this team will be inside the tackles and throwing downfield. Dana basically did what AC does well...roll-outs, designed runs..those won't be there against good defenses...but honestly we might only play four or five good defenses.

I didn't care for him taking the ball out of his hot RBs hand after 2 straight drives in the 3rd quarter. Next drive we immediately go to a different RB and start throwing it like it was a requirement. That's one of my main problems with DH. He can scheme up the pass game well and usually gives some easy throws to his guys but his feel for the run game is off to me. At least yesterday it was and had been in the past.

He covered that 10 yards on the TD run pretty damn quick after he made the corner. The kid can make plays out of nothing, but is also capable of bone headed decisions. Very TMartish, but AC has better chops in the passing game. Of course opponents lived in fear of TMart breaking big runs. Colandrea’s feet will extend drives.

I hate to say who he reminded me of yesterday….Luke McCaffrey at QB. Luke didn’t have the RBs or line we have now though.

What made you think of McCaffrey? I think McCaffrey would easily throw two picks in that game.

Yep. Just his stature and quickness. He looked tiny but he’s very quick. AC made some Luke like mental errors a couple of times too. Here’s the deal with Luke. With Tom as his coach running Tom’s offense, he could have been a Heisman trophy winning QB. The kid’s a starting NFL WR now. He could have been a great option QB. JMHO worth exactly nothing.

That screen to the rb looked well executed and a potential big play. I hope they don’t show it too much before big 10 play

Joe was really good in his short time because he could throw from multiple arm angles, accurately while moving. Joe didn't play his first years because he wasn't a good conventional qb...was short, undersized, weak arm but once the play broke down he was really good. AC requires designed roll-outs and doesn't seem really great at improvising and throwing and on the move from multiple arm angles. A guy like Diego Pavia would extend plays but also look for WRs down the field who had lost contain...I didn't see that from AC.

Seems as if he played a bunch of snaps. Dudes a fire plug. Seems they were bringing RVP in when they want penetration from the interior.

Seemed to me like he was eating a double team on every dropback. Looked to me like he was getting a legit push. I’m interested to hear what somebody who really looked at the video of our D linemen thought.

Eventually YouTube will have the full game of just plays. I heard Nwaneri and Jeremiah Jones were paired on passing downs in the second half. Whittington played less than he probably will going forward. RVP got a sack. A lot of guys played. I think that very first play soured the overall perception of the D.

He’s going to make bad decisions and he’s also going to gamble and have some great luck. Raiola’s problem was that he couldn’t make a decision and that led to sacks. I think Colandrea just plays way better to Holgerson’s strengths as a play caller.

Oh I don't disagree. Im perfectly fine with it. I'm just saying we are gonna have some fans that totally lose it when he does that. Gonna have to take some of that to get the off script plays and ability to extend drives via air or ground.

Facts and he's definitely gonna have to get down on occasion if he's gonna make it through. Hopefully no "olay" blocking from the OL. Hopefully he's smart enough to realize he's not running over BIG backers either lol.
