I haven't really kept up with the offensive coordinator position much, and maybe there's somebody pretty much locked in I dont know about, but why aren't we looking at Campbell from Gulf Coast CC for that position. He seems like the perfect fit for OC. His style of offense is what we need at state, definately a change from what we are used. I could be wrong but he seems like the perfect fit. I would like to hear what is wrong with him at OC.

Yep - head coach will decide all that. I assume if we get Wilson, he might try to bring Huepel along to be the OC. The two "shock" candidates mentioned are both offensive guys so would bring their own system in as well.
I think if we land someone with a defensive background, Byrne would push more to make sure a creative OC would have been hired.

every year, we have to play in the SEC. Do you want a guy calling plays and designing an offense who has experience playing in front of a couple of hundred people on Thursday night in Podunk, Mississippi or some guy who experience running an offense against BCS competition in front of BCS crowds?</p>
We could certainly do worse than Campbell as OC (we did with McCorvey). Heck we could do worse than Campbell as head coach (we did with Croom). Campbell is a good, solid coach.
