Based on a $100 bet. Look at it another way State has 12:1 odds, UGA 5:1, etc..
<font size="3">
</font><font size="3">2621 Alabama +170
</font><font size="3">2624 Florida +175 </font>
<font size="3">2627 LSU +300 </font>
<font size="3">2625 Georgia +500 </font>
<font size="3">2630 South Carolina +650 </font><font size="3">
</font><font size="3">2622 Arkansas +1200 </font>
<font size="3">2629 Mississippi State +1200 </font>
<font size="3">2631 Tennessee +1200 </font>
<font size="3">2623 Auburn +1500
2626 Kentucky +6600
</font><font size="3">2628 Mississippi +3000
2632 Vanderbilt +17500</font>

The line shows how weak they're expecting the East to be.

That team has a lot of issues on and off the field. That program has regressed quite a bit over the last few years. This will be Richt's last year. Florida looks high too, other than that I'd say they are spot on.

They have a relatively easy SEC schedule. UF has a nightmare of a schedule this year. So the5 to 1 is probably based on them having a decent chance to represent the east.

edit to fix odds mistake

Right it's much easier for them to win 8 games and make the SEC Championship Game (where theoretically anything could happen) than it is for a West team.

UF is not 12 to 1 to win the SEC, 1.75 to 1......you bet 100 and win 175... Did you mean UT???

My explanation was that they are in the East, have a relatively light schedule, and the best team in the East has a nightmarish schedule.
