OFF Topic, but am I the only one lost on this Superbowl halftime show?

I mean...ya either grew up in the 90s or you didn’t. I know plenty of current day Republicans who rocked sound systems and tinted windows while bumping car to Dr Dre. Politics are besides the fact. And I mean, come on, old people bitching about Eminem is why we liked Eminem.

You aren’t supposed to get it.

Did not watch the halftime show. Switched and watch part of Gun Smoke. Knew it would be crap with snopdog or what ever he calls himself.
Really? He’s been very famous for 30 freakin years and you’re gonna act like you don’t know his name? Lol.

Not a fan of the song choices for the artists. So many others to choose from. Lose yourself was a terrible choice imo.

If you grew up in the 90’s or after, this is musical perfection.

If you grew up anytime before that, probably not so much.
It’s in my age spectrum but I was never a rap fan. I appreciate that it’s been well received though. It still brought back a lot of memories of my youth. But musical perfection for me would be Metallica. How on earth have they not been asked?

I'm an envisioning a "Paul Ryan's favorite band is Rage Against The Machine" type situation where they never realized they were the machine being raged against.
But it really wasn’t about politics. Was about rebellion and showing up to the party looking cool. Kids didn’t give a **** in the 90s

Exactly. Let’s not forget about Tipper Gore going in against rap community and lyrics. It was never a D or R thing with music then.

Yeah, we have the party of Christians that idolize a man who has cheated on every wife he has ever had and was caught in 4K talking about just grabbing women by the ***** with no consent.

oh, you meant the halftime show. Totally not racist.
WTF

I was watching it with my wife loving every second of it (both born and raised in the 90s) telling her I couldn't wait to get on her and inevitably find this thread and it's comments. The posts have been exactly as expected lol
So watching the halftime show made you want to get frisky with your wife? Not sure why you are sharing that.

Some guys played instruments while Eminem did the only politically correct song he’s ever had.
Look
If you had
One shot
Or one opportunity
To seize everything you ever wanted
In one moment
Would you capture it
Or check your white privilege

OMG you’re right!

It was pretty tame and all artists involved did a good job keeping it PG.

If I have to watch the Rolling Stones, you have to watch some hip-hop.

Honestly, if you want it done in a way that satisfies everyone .. just have Bruno Mars every year. I'm fine with that. Who cares about the halftime show anyways.

I thought the show and the production value was good. It was well done for that genre. I just don't care very much for that genre. It's just a matter of preference, I suppose. To each his own.

To me Prince still rules as putting on the greatest Super Bowl halftime show ever.

But I grew up in the 80’s.
Both were really good. But yeah, Prince started playing Purple Rain and it’s started misting/drizzling. Can’t top that.

It don’t matter who is on the halftime show, the point is it’s a spectacle to watch. It’s the super bowl come on. I’d even watch Ray Stevens if he performed

I mean it's maybe a little out of my favorite entertainment variety but I enjoyed it. To say humanity has regressed, I don't know about all that. What kind of entertainment did some of you enjoy back in the day?
Knights Jousting??
Are you going to use that idea of Knights jousting as yours? If not, mind if I run with it? I think there is some money there somewhere….
