Now that Gruden has been exposed, there is going to be many more that will also be exposed now that the media is asking for transcripts of ALL the emails, and where is that going to stop. It will just lead to more emails. Like one journalist said, we all said things we regretted, but you need to separate those that were ignorant with their mouths and those that had true intents with their mouths, but this is going to put a real black eye on the NFL. I have to imagine college football isn’t any better especially in the SEC. Gruden is just the start of bigger things to come. Maybe just maybe Helton’s career is not over, well at least at USC for now!

Yes, what happened is an issue for debate, some will say "we must have his head on a stick" Others will say it's a bunch of nuthin. I simply say; for those who find themselves standing tall upon their mtn. of Moral Indignation. Be careful where you point your spear of "Holier than thou" for it may well be found pointing right back at your *** some day...

I don’t think the NFL is going to expose the Owners. I think it’s BS, what they did to Gruden and not expose everything else in the emails. Remember, Gruden wasn’t the “target/reason” why they are investigating the WFT. Snyder/Allen need to go down too.
Agreed there's a lot of ppl involved in this that won't get punished or fired. Their bank balance is too big and they got high powered lawyers.

Love the ole “it’s okay to make racist comments if it was jus funnin”…

He wasn't "jus funnin." "Jus funning" is when you're sitting around breaking each others' balls, and giving it and taking it over multiple libations.

I really wasn’t bothered by anything he said but I can see why other people might be put off. It just sounds like private guy talk roasting people to me. I’ve heard worse at the barbershop. With that said he did this to himself. How can you be that dumb? Who sends this type of stuff via their work email? At minimum the guys an idiot.

I seriously doubt the “media request for transcripts of ALL emails” will net them anything more than diddly-squat.

This is fast turning into a witch-hunt now.

People have lost their minds.

How is requesting the trove of emails going to protect owners unless they are selective going to pick what they give them. This is never going to end and it will expose a lot of crap that we all knew, but chose to ignore! Let’s take down more statues and asterisk and footnote coaches and owners for past emails!

I don't think people should be held to standards of behavior that didn't exist at the time. But we aren't talking about communications from the seventies or even the nineties . These are pretty recent emails. A professional should know better and do better.

Well of course she would! Now you can both enjoy your Sundays together watching something much more rewarding!

My wife has seen everyone of those at least 5 times.
I drive her crazy because I’ll come in the room and after watching for 30 second, tell her the whole plot, and who the girl will end up with.
She left her high paying job in the big city to come back to her small town to help her dad run the family farm and the hunky guy she was friends with in the fifth grade who is now a famous country singer or baseball player is visiting but he’s engaged to that Witch with a B and our heroine has a fiancé back in the big city, who is a good guy, but just not the right guy.. Oh, how will they ever work it out and spend eternity in wedded bliss?

Clarification....Gruden was using his private email. The recipient, however, was his buddy Allen who was using his WFT email.

"Private guy talk". Lol. No, it's normalized white-men-in-control talk. Gruden had no concern about saying what he said because he didn't think those comments would ever see the light of day and that's really the bigger issue. Yes, guys talk at barber shops, the locker room, lap dancing in an Ohio bar....these things are not all the same. People in power, and with the money, are responsible for the environments they create and the words they use.

Snyder is likely behind ALL of this coming to light, and IMO, Gruden was an easy target. There is a reason Snyder got hit with an $8M fine....but nobody ever heard the details behind the fine. There is a reason why MANY of the women making accusations against Snyder were offered money to keep quiet.

Yes, Gruden is an idiot. So is Allen, Snyder, and a bunch of others.
I'm sure there are, and the same standards should apply.
I disagree only in that the people in power and leadership positions should be held most responsible. People trying to equate owner, HC, and player are off the mark.

Samuel L Jackson Reaction GIF by Coming to America

This got nothing to do with anything running amok, aside from an investigation. That the NFL wanted to keep secret.

Let’s take down more statues and asterisk and footnote coaches and owners for past emails!
Boohoo...they brought it upon themselves, how about don't be sh*t heads? It's always curious when ppl say stuff like this, like, why do you care? Have you received similar emails? Who told them to hit send? I guess you're okay, with the Washington Owner using their cheerleaders as escorts? or sending their nudes to each other? without those woman's permission? employees? but because it might ruin someone's precious "legacy". Is it a step too far? I swear people's properties are all out of wack in this world.

I guess Joe Pa should have his statue still up? since, some "cancel culture" stooge dug up something about him turning a blind eye to a pedo on his campus and on his staff for decades. Lots of ppl said similar rhetoric in order to defend Joe, until the day he dead. "It was in the past" or some other nonsensical bs. Always curious..."cancel culture" run amok is code for " I hate when ppl are held accountable for their past transgressions" and don't say that it isn't. Though I guess in that same sense, it's a tact too far to bring up the past of a judge that wrongly convicted ppl and so they should be released because their arrest was unlawful and was done to drum up case pay out.

But ppl will scream it was in the past! you can't let them all out!...so was 9/11 but the middle east is still getting bombed.

But I guess that's a scale too big, in comparison.

It's certainly not "okay", but selectively pillorying some for their misguided statements and beliefs, while ignoring others just as intolerant because they may align with one's own stilted thinking, is at the core of our breakdowns and rank failure to make any real progress towards serving everyone better. JMHO.

Getting maliciously aggressive & punitive only makes the recipients more defensive, angry and entrenched.

What are you talking about? misguided? Being racist and things of that nature have nothing to do with misjudgment. They meant what they said.

These ppl are millionaires and billionaires; they are the definition of entrenched, and those emails, only came out because someone leaked them. Otherwise, as I said, the NFL would have been buried them for another 10 to 20 years. There is nothing intolerant about wanting to find out motivation in relation to bias in work places; that's, how to weed out nepotism and things of that sort, and discrimination isn't negotiable.. Furthermore, the workplace environment is what brought about this investigation that led to the 650,000 emails and whatever else that came up in discovery. DeMaurice Smith is a trial attorney that deals in complex criminal and civil cases. So of course he'd be all over that, as this is civil law 101.

Real progress? is weeding out these ppl as fast as humanly possible in our society, that's called serving people better. These types of people should not be in places of power over people that they don't like because of their skin color or whatever else. If these are their thoughts about their fellow humans. It's beyond, ignorant to think that those that want to find links between one discrimination and another are somehow more stilted in their thinking, than the person or individuals actively spewing it for seven years.

Is this the Twilight Zone? Nothing about what he said was malicious or punitive; you want to know what's malicious? it's talking about ppl behind their back.

There are peeps on all "sides" who harbor racist sentiments, meaning their sentiments are predicated on nothing deeper than the color of someone's skin. I think they're misguided. If you want to label them with stronger language, go ahead.

As far as people talking behind other's backs goes someone I consider very wise once told me not to overreact to people talking about me behind my back because pretty-much what people do is talk about others, especially if they have something nasty to say when those they are verbally nailing to the barndoor are not physically present. In my life, I have found this to be true.
