What does Croom have to do from this point on for you to say he can still be our HC for the 09 season, if anything?

and show some signs of life on the offensive side of the ball. If we don't improve offensively, he needs to be gone

This would include wins against Vandy, Middle, Kentucky Arkansas and Ole Miss. Also at least playing close at Bama and UT, preferbly splitting these two.

The key of course is having an offense. If this doesn't happen, Woody must go. If he refuses to fire Woody, see David Cutcliff vs Robert Kyack

Go to a bowl game....If no bowl game then reassign Woody and bring in an option based coordinator.....The option game is our bread and butter for the players we have. The sooner the coaches figure that out the better.

Just my opinion but I still think Pegues needs to be playing some on the offense......Hell, other teams use defensive players with speed on offense and create mismatches...We could do that as well if Mr. pro football would learn this is college football....

think there is any thing save getting to a bowl some how, and I don't see that happening.

If people can't see in 5 years this ain't working, God bless 'em.

If it stays like it is for the rest of the season, it won't get any better next year. It will be only be worse. That';s why I think we have to do something this year. Either on the field or off.

Someone please remove this stone from our shoe.

He should already be fired in my eyes. Croom is not the man for the job. He is not of the coaching caliber needed to get us to the SEC championship or any major bowl. Sure, he may luck up every now and then and get us to a bowl, but we should demand more. Until all MSU fans demand accountability from not only Croom, but any coach then we will remain exactly where we are. We gave the man 5 years to show us his potential and he showed us the best he can do is get to 8 wins. That will never get us back to Atlanta.

so, since we don't have the 1.7 mil or so to buy him out this year, I vote that he can come back.

Most have already been stated. Improved offense, bowl game (win or lose), much better clock management/game decisions, and at least a 6-6 record. I think I predicted 7-5 to start the season, but felt like we would go 6-6.

Unfortunately, I don't think he will be gone. The buyout is probably too high. </p>

whatever his buyout is, it has been pledged. Byrne now has to make that call based on the rest of the season...but it has been pledged

Make changes to the offensive staff starting with the OC. The OC must be someone that can actually develop QBs and be allowed to call plays.

...would get us to 5 and keep hopefully most of our class intact. Am I satisfied? No. From an administrative and financial standpoint, would I be in favor of firing the one year removed SEC COY and first AA coach? No, especially if the class stays intact.

Go 4-8 and I am seriously pissed.

Go 3-9 or worse, and he needs to be gone, period.

I can't believe with all the suggestions for changes that must be made at the end of the season, that not one person has mentioned our Special Teams' coach needing a change. Did anyone see the LSU game? We looked pathetic! We couldn't line up, we couldn't get enough men on the field, we couldn't stay onsides. All that is poor poor preparation and coaching. We need a change at ST coach!

1. no quarterback
2. no offense
3. lost to a crappy La Tech team
4. shown no common sense clock management
5. basically admitted to playing not to lose against LSU
6. allowed Blake McAdams to punt for four years
7. given his OC boyfriend a $75K raise for nothing. Nada. Zip.
8. went for it on 4th and 15 versus AU with 4 minutes and 2 TOs left
9. already lost 2 winnable games (yes, Auburn was very winnable)
10. continued to fire "you can't touch me" shots towards the fans and administration through the media

There's more but I'll stop now.

Sometimes in business, sports, and everything else a person (group) must realize that whatever the consequences it is time to cut the losses, stop stop the bleeding, and try to make better decisions. I have not seen one post that states that Sly will turn this thing around, it's just a matter of how much longer he will last before getting the ax.

Maybe we will keep enough of our committments to form a team for the next guy.
