No. We've done that before. Plus, Paul Johnson is probably the guru right now as far as that offense, so unless we got him from GT, it probably wouldn't be a great idea.
Plus, I have some problems with it:
A. You put your QB in more jeopardy of getting hurt. This has happened to GT MULTIPLE times this year.
B. It's difficult to come from behind if you are primarily a running team like that.
C. It's difficult to recruit QB's and WR's if you run that offense.
I think we need to run a pass-first spread because if nothing else, it seems like that's what our players want to run. We have no o-line, and it will be to our benefit to have our QB in the shotgun. I think it will also benefit our o-line to have wide splits. I don't know a whole lot about spread o-line play in terms of complexity, but I would imagine that it is more simple than the flexbone which asks their o-linemen to do a lot of things like trap, and etc. I like to think that Delmon Robison and Arceto Clark can be good slot WR's and hopefully get one on one match-ups where they can use their athleticism and speed to make plays. Ducre is very good at running draw plays, and I think Elliott would be good in it. It could hurt AD, but we could still use him, and he just may need to learn to get to the outside more quickly- that's what he wants to do anyway. I think Marcus Green could also emerge as a slot receiver and help us out. Plus, Tyler Russell and Tyson Lee have run this type of offense before, so I think they will adjust better to it.
