Same people hated Oats until he propped their boy up.

I never said we had an awesome efficiency this season so I’m unsure as to why my name is being mentioned.

I just made the argument that post 15 defense has been a bigger issue than offense. Which is entirely true.

It’s not even about offense or defense this season. We don’t have a good team on either side of the ball.

We certainly did last season tho.

I feel like people who rail against efficiency stuff doesn’t even understand the stat.

I mean it’s points per game on a piss basis. It’s what actually happened on the court. To argue the number makes no sense to me. If I say we score 85 points per game no one can really turn around and argue that’s poor. If we score 53 points no one can say that’s good

We clearly don’t have a good offense or defense this season. Show me where it was said otherwise tho

Quoted the wrong person but pt remains lol

Our most talented player even in high school was deemed “a great defender” and a “complete player”. Essentially a way to say he’s not the level of offensive player that would warrant his ranking.

In my opinion(and my opinion only) we have a lot of players that aren’t particularly great offensively and aren’t confident. It results in passing up good shots, the patented Sahvir under 10 on the clock offense, and an ugly product.

As to the thread: our offense is a problem. Often we think or see commented “what are they trying to do out there?”. While I don’t get paid 9 million to figure it out. I have no idea.

5’8 PG that doesn’t get guarded from 3 much
Cason who is a pure combo guard in the worst sense as he’s not great at either PG or off ball in particular
Chris, idk what he does offensively
Toppin continuing average mid range shooting, not ideal
Oscar can’t go over length or pass out of doubles but can dominate otherwise
Fredrick hurt
Collins nothing offensively, has he made a shot all year? He seemed decent mid range last year
Ware, just watch that bricked layup against Mizzou
Adou great effort but not a threat
Ugo no threat
Reeves…the hardest one. He’s not able to get open like a Grady or Herro. He commits weak turnovers and makes boneheaded decisions.

I don’t have a clue and thus don’t expect it to be solved this year.

I mean to me this all common sense.

We played p5 teams this season and for the most part we weren’t even competive in these games. This season we have no good defense or offense.

Last season if I filter out oh offensive efficiency just based on conference games we were far away the best in the conference. We scored 1.11 ppp. The next teams were Auburn at 1.07 and Bama at 1.06

Sagarin tends to be the most accurate when it comes to offense since it’s strictly score based metrics.

We are 29th overall. 25th in (pure points) and 34th in (recent) which takes out most the cupcakes that we were feasting on…even tho Louisville is still included in the recent and they are essentially a cupcake.

Bama is 9th over all (11 and 9 respectively) for comparison. Much more accurate than Kenpom at this stage. Kenpom tends to even out and be accurate heading into selection Sunday and March. But rn it’s not a great product.

So to recap

Good offense last season.

Bad offense this season.

The recruits we got were more def minded. We don’t have scorers on this team. That coupled with the fact that even the gius thst were supposedly good defensively really aren’t and u get well this season

I mean even in kenpom Alabama is 5th overall and 17th offense and 9th def. so not really much a difference
