I was thinking that teams sure have been scoring a lot of points these days so I took a look at Salem the last three and half seasons. In 2013, 14, 15,16 Salem has averaged about 42 points per game. I'm sure this is more than any other similar time period for the Spartans. Have other schools seen this increase? If so who and how much? Have teams just stopped playing defense?

By the way the most points given up during that period was Amherst 42 this year. Least points scored during this period is 0 accomplished by Sherando.

Offensive game has evolved faster than defensive game. D reacts to O now, not the other way around. O's are just more versatile and diverse than they were 15 years ago.

Salem's been blessed with a lot of skill position talent recently but you have to think they're in a more current mindset offensively and if you got some of the older Salem teams they'd excel at putting up buckets of points using the same mindset.
