Just like OJ trial, criminal says "not guilty" and civil side says "guilty".......why else pay if he didn't murder him? Wrongful death? But Castille was in the wrong, how was it "wrongful"?

A couple of interesting things:

1. City of St. Anthony will pay without using any "taxpayer money", but instead from insurance money.......[pfftt]

2. Catille family statement starts out by saying "no amount of money could ever replace Philando...." Yeah, sure.......:(

It could have been a payoff to try and heal the city. This is a much different than OJ. OJ Was found responsible by a jury after a civil trial.

I'm glad the city did something after an officer took the life of a father, who was completely innocent.

And.....no......I don't think $3m replaces a husband and father. Ever.

Same thing happened with Freddie Gray case, although that one was waaaaay dirtier in how the payouts were handled. In that case, all officers actually tried were exhonerated and the remainder had the charges dropped. In that case, the payouts occurred before verdicts came down. Additionally, the payout was like 10 times the amount to ever be awarded by the city of Baltimore. (I think 33% went to the attorney) the attorney kicked a sizable amount into the election war chest of one of the chief politicians involved. That was a shakedown. Now, the area businesses are suing the city for the riots for damages and loss of revenue in the aftermath. I think they'll win or it will be settled at a minimum because of how SRB handled the riots "we are giving them room to destroy".

Also, just because the officer was found innocent doesn't mean that Castile wasn't a "wrongful death".
