Dude, we are not winning. Do you see anything that points to that? We can’t even inbound. We suck tonight. We had moments of really good play this year but today we SUCK we were COCKY and ARROGANT and played like entitled LOSERS.
We’ve only attempted like 4 3’s this half.
UT taking that dimension away. They let Amari score. Bait Oweh to drive and wall him. He doesn’t pass so there is no risk bringing over help.
Go 4 guards. It’s the only way we can score enough points to even sniff a win.
This team has been horrible all year at boxing out and rebounding. And every shot they fade away like it’s going in. No following their shots at all.
The gap is entirely 2nd chance points. Play great D for 27 seconds and then they make a prayer or we can’t get the miss. You can’t win that way and a lot of these are effort rebounds.
What I don’t understand is, when you know your guys aren’t able to stop them then you have to try and outscore them. Shoot a 3 in first 10 seconds of the shot clock and hope you get hot and can chip into it that way.
Not showing up ready to play for a Sweet 16 game against one of, if not your biggest rival for a chance to go to the Elite 8 is unacceptable and should NEVER happen. From the gate, Tennessee has out worked and outplayed us in every aspect of the game. This falls squarely on Pope in my eyes.
This game sucks, but does not ruin the season. Hate that it’s UT, but at least it’s not Louisville or Duke.
Pope “You have to just enjoy the experience at least we had a great movie night last night”. I am joking- I think.
Not sure I would say it’s a “hell of a year”. If so our standards have plummeted.
Fun at times, yeah. Pretty good, I guess.

Can someone please explain to me (I've been asking all year), but what did Amari Williams actually do to get 3 DPOY awards in whatever wack *** conference he came from?

Have to be a tad more athletic next year and get a guy who can make something out of nothing at the end of a shot clock/when plays break down.
Enjoyable season. Gotta get more talent in here. I believe we will.
We won't win this game because of the following:

- Bad offensive flow, zero movement
- 1v1 basketball
- Standing around, terrible defense, lackadaisical

I a, most definitely not happy, this is about the worst this game could have gone, missing dent. It’s a kick in the nuts to our momentum. I didn’t wanna see this team go out like this. It blows.
Obviously, you haven't been watching the game if you think this team capable of pressing UT. We aren't capable of staying between them and the basket as it is.
It really comes down to giving up second chance points and being cold from three. If we could warm up from 3, we can still get back in, but also get defensive rebounds.
They did for 7 years with Cal. Never seen the names coming out of the woodworks to talk about Pope and the team.

It is called "in your jock defense." TN has put a clamp on what beat them twice, that is wide open threes.

It’s been that way all season. The guards have to help rebound. Like everyone has said, rebounding is effort and positioning. .

I’m tired of losing to Tennessee. They beat us every time the game matters, literally every time. They own us, it’s getting old
