It’s a lot of moving parts. We are dominating just not on the scoreboard. I’ll take it.

We got spoiled with Austin Seibert's reliability over the last few years. There are going to be growing pains.

Agree, but I think we are spoiled with down field throws as well. I know just game 1 but outside of 1 or 2 throws we are dink\dunk at best.

Come in it’s early we are just getting going. First games are always weird.

Another "big picture" consideration is that there's no sense in showing any more of your offensive hand than you have to when you're basically dominating a team. It'll happen as Riley opens things up and Hurts gets a better feel for the offense and the players around him (under game conditions).

Hurts is running a lot more than I anticipated. If they keep this up I would say he is eventually going to get injured. He is a load though

Anxious to see what halftime adjustments Grinch makes. If he makes any that will be an improvement over the past few years. I give the defense an A for the first quarter and a C- for the 2nd. That’s not too shabby.

On the national Rivals board, the Bama fans are basically saying, at this point, the Hurts we're seeing tonight is the same one they saw during his time at Alabama. It'll take a while for Riley to do his magic, I'd think.

He’s a big guy and won’t come close to running as much some past wishbone QBs.

LOL. Are those Bama fans are talking about how he played when he quarterbacked the Tide to a National Championship as a freshman?? From what I’ve seen so far I would compare his play to that season. He will not be the long ball passer that either Baker or Kyler were. But not too many are.

My enthusiasm for Hurts has been guarded but I have to say Hurts is throwing the ball pretty damn well tonight and I'm glad to see it.

For all of their hubris, I think Bama fans are rooting for Hurts while secretly hoping that he doesn't improve that much under Riley's tutelage. If that were to happen, it'd mean that Saban isn't perfect in every respect.

I've been pretty impressed with Murray tonight. Grinch et al have done a nice job of just letting him attack without thinking as much

All my Bama relatives are big time Hurts fans.

Saw on one bumma board they said he was the same Jalen "Happy Feet" Hurts and said he would be exposed when we play a good defense and someone replied when will OU play a good defense.
For the most part I think Bama fans are rooting for him to do well.

I imagine Texas will blitz Hurts to try to force errors

#10 on OU's defense should get credit for that Houston TD. Pure, unadulterated stupidity.

622 yards total offense through 3 quarters; 290 rushing and 332 through the air. The D has given up 214; 103 and 111.

Maybe I'm unrealistic but I'd still like to see the defense play more physically. One of Houston's RB's has overpowered us on a few occasions.

One thing Riley didn't pick up from a young Stoops was putting a foot on the opponents throat. Riley goes conservative like he has the 2000 OU defense on the field backing him up

We're up by 18 and not one person picked us to cover. Houston had a top 5 offense last year, and while we've had some lapses, good offenses are going to get theirs.

There has been a lot of good but we have also seen a lot of bad especially late with the D. That 21-0 lead has become huge. Houston just made it 31-21 since that time. The OU offense has left points on the field and the kicker , well doesnt give any confidence.
