Obviously.
But Brkic needed to successfully kick in game conditions at this time. He had issues in the opener.

Yeah, I hear all that.

Too bad we didn't pitch a shutout like everyone else in the top 10 did.

No one is even talking about pitching a shutout. Why are you getting so defensive with anyone who voices concerns? We all agree this D is better but it still has some work to go. Houston posted up 31 in the opener and we haven’t even seen the better Offenses that are yet to come on the schedule.

I would say "I'm not being defensive", but that would be defensive.

V have you been in the shrubbery this early on the Sabbath ? Cuse scored as did some of the directionals; LSU was behind for a long time too... musicians !
Yep, Tiger fans were very frustrated with the 1st half struggle vs. Northwestern State (FCS school, not to be confused with NW University). They did play lights out in the second half though. I didn't see the OU game, but the defense had to have played well to only give up 14 pts. Like Holgerson or Leach, one would expect a Chip Kelly team to score a lot of points, even in a blowout. I was expecting one of those 56-35 type final scores.

Once in awhile those FCS schools play way above their 'lane'... I've got a friend up here that went to S Dakota St or whatever that's like the Bama of that league. No D1 schools will risk an intersectional with them currently

I think you meant to say North Dakota St. they have dominated the FCS.

No offense but UCLA offense has averaged 14 pts in all 3 games this year. That offense so far has been very bad.

The D played pretty good but the UCLA offense is not much to talk about.
That said I think last years D would have given up more than 14, maybe 10 to 14 more points. We had a bad habit of making opposing QB'S and offenses look way better than they were.

All true, but on the other hand, how many times have we "survived" a game the last few years that should have been a blowout, mainly due to the D? I don't think anyone is saying this is a great defense, but it does seem to be a big improvement.

I think the problem is we as fans are so shellshocked by the defense that we become very attuned to what is happening. We are waiting for the other shoe to drop and with good reason. I know myself I am much more tense when the defense is on the field. Someday we will hopefully have faith that the defense will be close to the same level as the offense. I definitely think it’s going in the right direction but we should know it won’t happen in year one. But we we all want it now because it’s been so disappointing for so many years.
