I guess we get to look forward to who transfers and the number one recruiting class again but man how do you continue to give up leads when it counts ? Scheyer has some searching to do because I don’t care how anyone spins it , this was due to the inability to maintain a lead.
Its not new...end game management has cost us. We seem incapable of executing..a poorly designed or not designed inbounds leading to a turnover...if it was once..or even twice you could say it was unlucky, but this has happened too frequently. With large leads, when it dwindles, we seem incapable of finding a bucket off a set play or having a drive bring FTs to stop momentum...these are key coaching areas...our talent is always there but at critical moments our coaching fails us

I think we should extend Scheyer before the NBA gets a hold of him. If he leaves, I say we call Hubert Davis, Juwan Howard or Coach K in that order. All know basketball and all have recently coached of which both are big pluses in my book.

I think this is more due to the inability to think about the injury factor . Last year it was Brown this year Foster and Big Pat . Then Brown having back spasms today . If you bring in practice players at least bring some in that you think can give some minutes . Sorry but this is on Scheyer period .

That hurts, but this game wasn't lost because of the injury situation today. I have a feeling the coach had more a deer in the headlights than the players. Its infuriating to literally give away 2 games in consecutive years that you had probably a 95% chance of winning. That is straight up on the coach.

We were kind of playing with fire the whole tournament. Gotta bring some guys back. Elite eight is not chopped liver but you have to take advantage. I don't think we were beating Michigan/Arizona but FF would have been nice.

Choke job plain and simple. Both last season and this year were the two worst losses in my life time. Just hold the darn ball, up 2 with 5 seconds left. Dumb

We screwed the pooch. Two different halves, in both our play and officiating. Foster wasn’t the same, and neither were Pat and Maliq.

Then the end of the game just adds to our frustration as fans. Two years in a row of choke jobs.

I love Jon, but how much is on him?

The game shifted with the offensive foul flop call on boozer that hasn’t been called the entire year not once .
The game changed when Duke stopped being the aggressor. That’s two years to me is on coaching . I do think this team was together as you could ask . However, Scheyer is on record saying coaching mishaps are on him and this one is on him . I feel for these young g men as they played hard and represented Duke well but it’s time to rethink your end of game coaching .

I hate it for Cayden because he will live with that forever.
And he should. He is the pg. He has played how much basketball in his life. He didn’t even need to cross halfcourt. Just hold it and get fouled.

Jon can’t make the pg make a dumb pass when all he has to do was hold the ball and get fouled. That’s on the players. Awful game awareness by the pg of all people.

Nonsense. This team should 38-0 right now and a pretty good favor going into the final 4. No team "beat" Duke this year, they just handed 3 games away.

Who was a bench player ! Scheyer had a time out ! You don’t think that young man doesn’t know that ? But he didn’t give up a 19 point lead by himself .

Need to find a way to get some experience to go with the 5 stars. We have had a lot of success, but definitely a pattern here. Thought we had the right blend last year.
We had our chance last year. To me, last year's team was better even though this year's had better record. Gotta find way to take advantage when you get there. We're going to be in same situation next year.

All the talk about freshmen hurting in big games is BS. They’ve played enough games that they should have a good enough basketball IQ to finish the game. These losses are on Jon. As a coach when you win it’s because of the players. When you lose that’s on the coach. These last two years are perfect examples. Until next season, I’m out for now. Take care everyone!

100%...senior or mature players are a necessity to win it... especially in tight games. But i expect we have another bunch of 5-star HS kids coming in with one or two role players....Michigan has transfers with 6 yrs experience, UI has mature internationals, UA has both and UConn has senior/jr leaders....thats just the recipe to win these days.

They dont need 5 stars. Two or three studs and then bring in some battle tested good players.

That’s what scares me . This year Duke played a tough schedule but toward the end injuries hurt us like he year before . It’s time to rethink the bench imo. Reed going off was unnecessary. Duke had size and a lead with him going off in the first half . Duke as a whole could not close out this game !

Anyone that's paid any attention to the NBA this year can see what a monumental collapse last year was. Far and away the best team last year.

I been through the Scotty Thurman shot in 94, I been through the UCONN losses in 99 and 04, Carolina in the FF, Houston last year and now this but i also remind myself I have often been on the other side of these as well, from the Leattner UCONN winning shot, to our comeback vs Maryland to the one vs UK that is still the greatest of all time.

lol man it sucks, aint no other way to slice it. I am about to be 49. I hope i get to experience many more but overall I am grateful. This is what sports is. Sometimes there is elation and others you get the arse torn out of you like today.

My advice is avoid as much media as you can, this too shall pass.

neutral observer here: Boozer made the correct decision. holding the ball to draw a foul doesn’t win the game. pass to a wide open teammate to run out the clock wins the game. UConn got the critical turnover.

Hindsight is 20/20.

Until that’s all they can talk about . Is how Scheyer continues to give up big leads just to loose. If I’m him , my first act of business( because college sports is a business) is getting Big Pat ( because he’s headed to the gleague), Foster , Cayden , Harris and Khamenia to come back . Sarr too although I think he’s gone and get another big . If not this year will be a memory to stick come next year .
