I had no idea that Illinois abandoned the Indian mascot for a bird. From my perspective, their whole deal was very pro American Indian so I'm a little confused by this one. At least "Redskins" or "Chief Wahoo" could be construed as insulting. But I think the Illinois mascot was more akin to the Atlanta Braves. Nothing wrong with it that I can see. Whatever.

Lou had no idea
that Illinois abandoned
Indian mascot

For a bird? Lou thinks
They were pro American
Indian; confused

Redskins, "Chief Wahoo"
Could be construed as insult
However, Lou thinks

Illinois mascot
Akin to Atlanta Braves;
Nothing wrong with it that.

Helping out Lou
Everyone has Haiku fart
Forgive and forget
